[ packs the essential water bottles & sandwiches in his backpack before he's off, putt putt putting to the fair's designated parking spot. doesn't immediately head for the meeting spot, however, strolling on over the bathroom first to do his business. before he leaves, he takes a moment to poke at some of the misbehaving strands on his head in a slightly disgruntled manner. attempts smoothing the strands down twice, then shakes his head, accepting the catastrophe that had been yesterday's sudden rain shower.

making his way back into the outside world, he ignores the trail of waddling seagulls behind him & begins to lazily walk toward the ticket booth to wait for alyssa & tony. ]

[ listens to his voicemail messages as he wanders around the fair's entrance, shutting it when he realizes that he should be at work instead of going to the fair. but priorities make him turn off his phone and pocket it, deciding that this is more important.

glances over to the ticket booth and smiles when he sees the back of anthony's head, trotting the rest of the way to his friend. the seagulls scatter and squawk at his arrival, reaching on over to drape himself over anthony's shoulders and nuzzle his face into the other boy's neck. ]

HRK--! [ would have jumped if tony's weight isn't keeping him relatively grounded. goes rigid instead in shock, hands curling into fists despite not swinging them, subconsciously recognizing the voice (& the nickname). eventually manages to turn his head stiffly to peer at his friend. ]

[ just keeps his current position, brushing his nose against the shorter boy's due to their close proximity. ]

What's up? Nobody else here yet? Guess that means we get to spend some quality alone time together!

[ adjusts his footing to account for the extra weight & turns his head the other way. ]

[ her reply to anthony is subconsciously put on hold, too busy watching tony and the twin's backs to properly notice her friend's appearance. turns to him when it seems like they're all situated, giving the boy a belated smile. ]

Hello, Anthony! Are you excited? I haven't been to a fair in years!

[ is watching tony & the children's backs as well, but in worry. only glances at her when he hears her speak. gives a small nod. ]

First time since high school.

[ tugs anthony far away from the entrance and into the crowd, glancing over his shoulder once in an attempt to see if the three they left behind can see them or not. heaves a small sigh and lets the boy go finally, pocketing his ticket stub before looking down at his friend. even if half the reason of getting away was to relieve them both of the children who seem very intent on giving them hell, he also felt like it was something anthony himself needed to a great extent.

finally turns to him when they get to a spot where they can stop and not block the crowd. gives him a smile and a small laugh. ]

[ had quietly stumbled along after tony with a few lingering glance back at alyssa (& the twins). feels a pinch of disappointment at his plans at an afternoon with both tony & alyssa simultaneously, but decides that, under the circumstances, he's rather lucky to having avoided any pressing injuries.

nods in response to tony's words when they stop before looking him up & down again. ]

[ blinks a few times in confusion. just tilts his head a bit. ]

Sure, why wouldn't I be?

[ only thinks to glance back when he feels the chill down his spine lessen, a moment of guilt fleeting across his expression. then turns back around with a considering look that ends in a shrug -- he had just mentioned survival as a priority, after all. starts up his pace again, this time a little more leisurely before he stops yet again.

... & buries his face into his hands for a moment, realizing that he doesn't know where exactly alyssa is. turns his head upward toward the sky in a long-suffering manner before deciding that he could at least wait for them at the eating area. shoves his hands into his pockets & keeps moving, letting out a relieved breath when he escapes the clutches of the crowd. then stops for the third time in the last ten minutes, blinking when he feels like he's seeing someone very familiar-- ]

[ shifts a bit on her resting spot up against the wall of the stand of her chosen food choice for the day, fumbling with the number she was given for the orders she had placed a little while ago. the only thing that could possibly pry her away from her non-thoughts is the sound of a familiar voice, face brightening considerably when her gaze comes upon her friend's face. ]

[ wanders on over, looking relieved. ]

[ yawns and shifts a bit from the spot he's currently resting on, grimacing a bit when his stiff muscles are disturbed. looks down at his watch briefly and notices that he should probably move to another spot soon, knowing that he could be spotted any minute if he stood there any longer. glances over at the seating area to where alyssa and tony still reside, deciding that he should stay there until they move to another location.

part of him finds his actions completely ridiculous and rather stupid, but another part of him can't shake off the feeling of being more worried about alyssa when she's not around at least one of her family members. the talk he had with anthony didn't do much good to ebb away his concerns (it only seemed to increase them to a slight degree), thus why he continues to stand there and silently watch over alyssa from a distance. ]

[ having separated themselves from anthony as soon as they were out of sight of alyssa, tony & the squirrel their target, they circle around to where nathan is standing. softens their breathing when he peer out from behind a tree, watching nathan for any indication of having noticed their presence. then gives each other a small nod before arranging themselves in a position such that a pincer attack becomes possible. ]

[ ... wait. begins to sweat a little when he realizes what position he's in. tries to grope for the ignorance card while smiling a little tightly: ]

[ after stepping inside of anthony's house and relishing in the familiar atmosphere he makes a beeline to his friend's room, flopping down face-first onto the bed. sets aside the prizes he had carried in for his two companions, grabbing a pillow to rub his face into it and relax fully into the mattress. ]

Ah, it's heaven. Heaven on earth.
