[ stretches when p.e. class is finally over, feeling a little bit like jelly, a little bit like a boulder & a little bit of weakling. shakes his arms a bit to free himself of that feeling, rubbing the back of his neck as he silently tells himself that though the class would only grow to be more strenuous as the semester goes on (especially during the stress-high weeks of exam prep), he'd still enjoy it, not regret it. etcetra. but at the moment, he stinks, even to himself. after spending a rude amount of time at the water fountain (drinking his fill, ignoring his surroundings as usual), he changes directions toward the lockers, intent on taking a quick shower, changing out of his gym clothes & perhaps heading home early for the day. ]

[ peeks over at anthony curiously. ]

Oh, my. A friend?

A goalie. [ gestures to the boy. ] Anthony. [ gestures to the girl. ] My sister, Anne.

[ raises a hand in greeting. ]

Hi.

[ reaches out to shake his hand. ]

Hello. It's very nice to meet you, Anthony.

[ takes the hand, shaking it briefly enough to be tactful before pulling back. ]

Nice to meet you too, Anne. Do you have gummy worms?

[ blinks in confusion. ]

Gummy worms...?

[ moves away to take a seat and sit while they have their formalities. ]

Anne. [ only continues talking when she turns to him instead. points to the table. ] Coffee.

Oh! Y-Yes, I'm sorry.

[ turns back to anthony, stepping a few paces away from him. ]

Is there anything else you would like?

[ settles into the seat across from michael, blinking up at anne. ]

Do you have smoothies?

Yes, we do! [ leans over to open the small menu on the table, flipping to the smoothies section. points down at it. ] We have many flavors. If you would like, I can also have it customized to fit your taste.

[ peers down at the menu curiously, going a little cross-eyed at the number of choices. just decides to go with something safe: ]

Uh. Strawberry and banana? Please.

Of course! [ picks up the menus, tucking them underneath an arm. ] If you would like anything else then please don't hesitate to ask. I will be back shortly with some water.

[ & then she scurries off behind the counter. ]

[ turns to face michael when she leaves. ]

Do we get discounts?

[ had been poking around on his cellphone, not bothering to look up as he speaks. ]

Worry not, it's free. My aunt owns the company this shop is a part of.

[ yawns & nods. pauses when he realizes that michael can't see it, making him voice it in a short: ]

'Kay. [ watches his captain fiddle with his cellphone for a few more seconds afterward, then lets his eyes slip closed slowly to daze again. ]

[ comes back a few minutes later, saying a bit happily: ]

I'm back with your water--

[ & then stops, peeking at anthony. whispers a bit loudly to michael: ]

Is he asleep?

[ still focuses on his work, taking one of the waters out of anne's hand to sip at the straw there. ]

Possibly.

[ is apparently deaf to the whispering as he slips further & further into sleep. tilts forward a little, breathing evening as he begins his typical sleep talk: ]

Puff woooooooo. . . Puff woooooo. . .

...

[ just. slowly looks up from his cellphone, a rather deadpan look on his face. ]

[ while she just hovers around anthony, observing with a pleased flush on her face. ]

O-oh! Oh, it's so cute...! Big brother, you have a wonderful friend!

You are incorrect. I have a weak goalie.

[ peeks at anthony closely again. ]

He seems very tired...

He should have survived today's tryouts. [ speaks, mainly to himself: ] Did I make a mistake in choosing him?
