[ stretches when p.e. class is finally over, feeling a little bit like jelly, a little bit like a boulder & a little bit of weakling. shakes his arms a bit to free himself of that feeling, rubbing the back of his neck as he silently tells himself that though the class would only grow to be more strenuous as the semester goes on (especially during the stress-high weeks of exam prep), he'd still enjoy it, not regret it. etcetra. but at the moment, he stinks, even to himself. after spending a rude amount of time at the water fountain (drinking his fill, ignoring his surroundings as usual), he changes directions toward the lockers, intent on taking a quick shower, changing out of his gym clothes & perhaps heading home early for the day. ]

[ exactly fifty minutes had passed by since he had decided to sit and watch the freshmen waddle around in pain and agony, taking note of the people that interested him (a small handful at most, 90% of them were too rough around the edges for his taste) while tossing out the potentials with each passing minute. his intuition is pinged at the sight of someone rather fuzzy headed throughout the almost-hour, deciding to move in closer to watch him carefully. thinks about it. thinks about it some more.

-- well, it was better than nothing.

it is only when he sees anthony finished with his p.e. class that he strikes, walking towards him casually with a rather straight face, almost like he does this every day. when he finally stands in front of him he simply stares; gives anthony a calculating gaze, hand reaching up to stroke his chin with a hmmm as he leans in a bit closer to get a good look at his face in complete silence. ]

[ he almost doesn't notice the stranger, nearly running right into him. he might have, if he hadn't looked up at the last minute & stops with a blink. blinks yet again when he realizes that he's under (random) scrutiny from the other boy, then glances upward at the sky in half-attempted thought. ]

. . . ?

[ oh well. shrugs & quickly returns the scrutiny to file the boy's features away under the 'possible-alyssa-stalker' folder in his mind. then he's moving around him, not too bothered, entirely focused on his to-get shower. ]

[ his expression does not change as he steps in front of anthony again, clearly not done with his inspection. looks at him some more... then squats down in front of him to being inspecting anthony's legs closely, grabbing onto one of his calves to give it a squeeze and firm shake. ]

[ thoughts freeze, but his body doesn't. a hand curls into a fist, as if in back-up, while his free foot swings side-ways to kick the stranger in the hip in an attempt to dislodge him. ]

[ grabs that foot without much thought when he releases a hand, tilting his head a bit at the limb he continues to stare at. looks up at anthony. ]

You've played soccer before. [ looks back down at his leg. gives it one last shake. ] How long? High school? Middle school?

[ ... just punches. ]

[ doesn't seem to be fazed at all by the punch, head going along with it before he comes back around to look at his other leg, as if nothing happened at all. ]

Knew it. [ hums a little, moving the foot he has in hand as he watches the muscles closely. ] Calcaneal tendon works fine. [ moves it again. ] Soleus muscle is decent...

[ hops a little when his foot is moved, trying to keep his balance as he shakes out his hand a little when pain shoots up his knuckles.

[ ignores his pain as he's too busy to properly notice it, but after he's had his fill he lets him go and stands. ]

Are you going to try out for varsity?

[ stares at him for a moment, wondering if he should be honest. ]

Yes. [ pauses. shrugs. ] Maybe. Eventually? The wind will tell.

[ crosses his arms over his chest. ]

But tryouts are this Saturday.

[ is currently face-down on the grass, face flushed from the exertion that the tryouts had demanded of him. feels more than just a little gross when he rolls over onto his back, staring up at the sky in silence. doesn't really think on his performance -- he'd been playing soccer & that had been it -- as when he manages to level his breathing, he's sitting up to stand up. rolls his shoulders as he tries to get feeling back in his limbs, then proceeds to waddle toward the lockers for yet another shower. ]

[ & he's just sitting on one of the benches in the locker room, almost as if he's waiting for anthony in specific to show up (spoiler: he is.). when the boy waddles in with his back to him he speaks evenly, like they were just having a long, drawn-out conversation about the weather: ]

[ jerks backwards into the closest wall behind him. ] Stalker captain?!

Your form was pretty good, but you could have intercepted better on your last three tries. You also looked too panicked when number fifteen was going for your head.

Don't worry, the person who got injured in your place only has to get ten stitches. The concussion wasn't too bad.

[ thinks about his answer. then decides (cautiously) that pain & suffering is over for the day. nods slowly. ] Why?

[ stands and flips out his cellphone, looking through some things as he speaks. ]

We're going out.

I was not speaking in a romantic sense. [ glances at one more thing before turning all of his attention on anthony. ] We're going out to celebrate.
