[ double-checks that everything in the house is straightened and in its proper place, despite having cleaned everything earlier that morning. a few peeks up the stairs towards her brother's room is the only other movement she makes besides nudging things here and there, taking a seat on the edge of a chair when she realizes that it probably won't be very long now. is quite aware (was made aware) that her brother had tricked anthony into thinking they were going to meet at twelve instead of twelve-thirty, but still can't help but glance outside the front window every few minutes to make sure that she would be there when he arrived. ]

I suppose. Shall I set the table?

[ nods, moving to take down the plates. hands them over. ]

Here you go.

[ gives his own share of a nod as he takes them, making sure to grab the utensils before wandering off towards the dining room in silence. ]

[ turns his gaze back to the pasta. reaches over to dim the heat, shaking his head. ]

Uh. Pasta's good.

[ peers over at it, then smiles. ]

Thank you, Anthony. It looks perfect.

[ ... puffs a bit. ]

I'm a master.

[ giggles and reaches up, petting his hair a little. ]

Yes, you are.

[ stiffens in surprise, but eventually leans a bit into the touch. ]

Go team domesticated.

[ does her typical head-tilting at that but does not address it, instead giving him a few more pats before turning to glance into the oven. ]

Hm... I think the chicken needs a little more time. [ walks to the fridge, opening it up. ] What would you like to drink, Anthony?

[ sways back into a straightened position, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. ]

What're the choices?

Water, orange juice, lemonade, milk, soy milk, cider...

[ perks up a bit. ]

Lemonade please.

[ takes out a glass from the cabinet as well as the bottle of lemonade. pours some, handing it over to anthony. ]

There you go.

[ takes the glass & sips experimentally. pauses, then a big gulp. ]

Thanks. It's really good.

[ smiles widely. ]

Really? My mother made it!

Think she'd share the recipe?

I think so! I will be sure to e-mail her or ask her when she returns.

No rush. It's only life and death.

Do you need it for something that's urgent?

Uh. No, not really. Just a saying.

[ finally wanders back in after pocketing his phone, blinking at them. decides not to ask, instead going to the cabinet to retrieve two glasses. ]

Is it almost ready, Anne?

[ looks up, nodding over at him. ]

Yes! [ turns back to anthony. ] You can go take a seat, if you'd like. I'll finish up the rest.

[ looks up at michael's appearance, then back at anne. ]

Are you sure? I can help more if you need it.

It's alright, I don't mind. Please, go sit, I'll bring everything in shortly.

[ pauses, as if to argue, then nods, turning to exit the kitchen. eyes the table for a moment, feeling like he's about to make an important decision. puffs out his cheeks a bit at the (dumb) thought & take a random seat instead. ]
