[ a lazy summer afternoon seemed like the perfect opportunity for alyssa to drag her best friend to the tv room in the mansion; it seemed like an even better idea to play new moon as their movie of choice, having missed the chance to see it in theaters because of final exams and graduation.

she keeps quiet, too enthralled in the thought that tony had actually agreed to sit down and watch it with her... up until they get fifteen minutes into the movie, that is. shifts slightly in her position against tony, a disgruntled look appearing on her face. ]

This movie is nothing like the book!

[ shakes her head fondly, moving away from him and out the door. ]

[ blinks again, confused at that answer, even as his body automatically starts walking out the door toward the beach once again. two quick steps & he's walking beside her instead of behind, tilting his head a little to get a glimpse of her face. ]

[ puts her hands behind her back and interlaces them, giving him a nod. ]

Yes! They're beautiful.

[ forces himself to forgo his immediate answer to favour a short silence of honest consideration. ]

Which kind are we talking about?

[ peers up at the sky, thinking. ]

I don't know... doves? Finches, linnets, hummingbirds...

Chickens?

[ pauses upon realizing that he really had no direction with the chickens question. decidedly steers the conversation onwards. ]

. . . I like ducks.

[ tilts her head curiously at him for a moment, trying to figure out why he said that. ]

Ducks are cute! I love tiny ducklings. They're so fluffy and yellow~

Yes. Nothing floats more beautifully than my rubber duck.

Really? I guess I'll have to visit you while you're taking a bath and see for myself.

It'll float for you even without me in the bath. I'm sure of it.

No, I'm pretty sure we both need to be in there at the same time.

[ takes his arm into both her own, leaning into him. ]

It's okay, I can give it a little bathing suit and everything~

[ considers this. ]

[ raises his free hand to poke at her cheek with his index finger. ]

[ initially blinks at that but ends up smiling. ]

That is very sweet of Minster Duck. I believe I will have to return the favor someday.

[ pulls hand back. ]

He charges interest.

Oh does he now. And just how much does he charge, darling?
