[ stretches when p.e. class is finally over, feeling a little bit like jelly, a little bit like a boulder & a little bit of weakling. shakes his arms a bit to free himself of that feeling, rubbing the back of his neck as he silently tells himself that though the class would only grow to be more strenuous as the semester goes on (especially during the stress-high weeks of exam prep), he'd still enjoy it, not regret it. etcetra. but at the moment, he stinks, even to himself. after spending a rude amount of time at the water fountain (drinking his fill, ignoring his surroundings as usual), he changes directions toward the lockers, intent on taking a quick shower, changing out of his gym clothes & perhaps heading home early for the day. ]

[ sighs & follows while rubbing tiredly at an eye. but still tugs out his phone to text two people of his success anyway, but makes certain to add the detail of a spartan captain being part of the package. ]

[ while he pokes around on his cellphone and does some work, perfectly content with the silence for now. ]

[ begins to progressively lag behind. though it's not done consciously, doesn't seem too bothered by it either. ]

[ when he notices that he's a good handful of feet away from anthony he blinks and stops, turning around to look at him. ]

You're slacking, goalie.

I'm a-comin', captain.

[ turns around again when he's satisfied with that answer, beginning their walk again. ]

Do you live in the dorms?

[ continues to trail after. ]

No, at my apartment. It's not too far. Why?

No particular reason. I was simply curious.

Oh.

[ a beat. ] Then what about you?

[ nods. ]

I do, but I typical prefer my parent's home over living on campus.

[ blinks, peering at the back of his head curiously. ]

But dorms give more freedom?

[ adjusts his glasses a bit. ]

It's not as quiet.

You could ask for quieter rooms.

No room is safe from loud college students.

Earplugs are wonderful inventions.

Which is a unnecessary accessory if I am at home.

Home has its own share of distractions.

Such as?

Excessive comfort.

I do not sway from my studies despite the comfort.

. . . Of course Spartans don't.

But the rest of the population do.

This is due to their lack of willpower. [ pauses a beat. ] Or perhaps they are just lazy.

Laziness is part of human nature.

To some, yes.

[ wisely refrains from adding that it's his preferred state. cranes his head beyond the street. ]
