[ flushes happily over his excitement, giving a few enthusiastic nods. ]

My pleasure! [ turns to alyssa. ] We should start a Thursday treat for you too! What do you like? Jelly beans? Gummy bears? Lollipops?

[ glances up at anne quickly before staring down at her water again. stirs the straw a little. ]

Um... I'm not sure...

That's okay! You can choose later if you'd like. Any friend of Anthony's is a friend of ours.

[ adjusts the apron around her waist a little, turning her attention to anthony again. ] Would you like anything else?

[ glances once at alyssa, then shakes his head at anne. ]

We haven't really decided yet. Give us a few?

Alright. Just call me over when you need me.

[ gives alyssa one more passing smile before walking off towards another table. ]

[ turns to alyssa, reaching out for one of her hands. ]

[ blinks and turns her attention to him when she feels the touch. ]

You don't like her?

[ smiles a little, shifting her hand to connect it with his. ]

She's very nice. I'm glad you made another friend.

[ twins their fingers, then taps his index finger against a knuckle. ]

Wanna come here with me every Thursday?

[ lifts her other hand to pat anthony's. ]

But Thursdays are your Special Days, darling.

I can share with my honey.

[ shakes her head. ]

I think it's a good thing that you have a place to go to by yourself where you feel comfortable.

[ ... tries for a different tactic. ]

But I want you to come too.

[ looks confused. blinks slowly. ]

[ shrugs. ]

It's a nice place.

[ thinks about it... then sticks her nose up in the air a little. ]

I'll come if I don't have any dates with daddy.

[ grows very, very still. ]

Uh. Okay. That'd be good. . . d-don't cancel on your dad.

[ sighs a little, looking forlorn. ]

If I do I'll tell him that I have to spend time with my darling... I'm not sure how he'll take that, though.

If you like your Tonys alive and raw, you probably shouldn't tell him.

[ removes her hand from his, cupping it around her water while the other stirs the straw around. ]

[ sips at his smoothie while giving her a pained stare. ]

[ turns her gaze away from his, taking a small sip of her own drink in silence. ]

[ keeps his expression firmly in place even as he reaches into his dish of gummy worms to pull one out & offer it. ]
