[ pulls onto the street across from anthony's apartment complex to park his car, turning the vehicle off before leaning back into the seat in silence. a day when they're both free was rare to come by nowadays, thus the sudden decision to grab the boy when he was given the a-okay by anthony himself. only this time he was going to him instead of the other way around, a good way to practice on getting back into something more comfortable with the friend(s) he had not been able to spend time with as often as he would have liked. still, it was a good start, and that's really all that mattered to him.

drums his fingers against the steering wheel in thought, shaking his head before getting out of the car, pocketing his keys after he's locked up. doesn't take any time in doing the typical routine (that he had not been able to do in quite some time)-- walks in, waits for the elevator, steps inside to push the button for the correct floor number, then strolls on out when the ding signals his arrival. his feet carry him at a leisurely pace towards the apartment, arriving in no time at all; after he knocks he shoves his hands into his pockets, taking a look around the hallway as if this were his first time visiting. a moment's thought makes him grin to himself a little (the things that happened last time they were alone together, still going over that day with some fondness attached despite the bad moments), schooling the smile to instead train his eyes on the door to wait for his friend to appear. ]

[ stares at tony for a moment, then poses. ]

I'm the better looking twin.

Y'sure are.

[ doesn't go any further with those words, too busy handing anthony the pink kitten plush so that he can go and grab the oversize chicken. ]

[ accepts the plush reluctantly, keeping his arms outstretched while holding onto it so that it's as far as possible from the rest of his body. peers up at tony. ]

. . . Done yet?

[ grunts a little, realizing the plush is heavier than he had originally thought. nonetheless he grins at anthony, managing a fast salute. ]

Yep! Wanna look around some more? I think I saw some of your robot-thingies in a corner over there.

. . . !! [ face takes on an anticipatory blush as he nods. reaches up to place the cat on the chicken plush & backs up a few quick steps excitedly. ]

Which aisle?

[ grins a little at the blush and enthusiasm, jerking his head to the side towards that general direction. ]

Seven.

Seven!

[ & with that repetition, he glances upward to check where they are at. then he's off, scurrying quickly toward the aisle that tony had pointed out. ]

[ takes a moment to watch him run off. shakes his head in amusement as he begins his own trek over there while balancing the gigantic ball of yellow fluff and the pink kitten, ignoring the looks he's getting from the people around him. ]

[ meanwhile, after some more scurrying, he's found the right aisle. eyes move from package to package, seemingly disinterested in the toys until he gets a certain (& rather small) section. doesn't seem discouraged by the size, however, busily picking up one of the boxes to inspect the words written on the back & the side. ]

[ finally arrives to aisle seven, feeling a little winded. sets the plushes down on the ground and straightens his back, giving anthony a quick look. doesn't say anything at the moment, however, too busy taking in the (adorable) sight to do much of anything else. ]

[ reads through the writing of another box before he finally notices tony. blush still in place, he waddles up to him, displaying the toy in his hands proudly. ]

Isn't it beautiful?

[ lifts a hand to ruffle anthony's hair fondly. ]

What kind is it?

[ stares down at the box while leaning into the touch, a smile coming to his lips. ]

[ peers down at the box. ]

Do you have this guy yet?

[ peels his eyes away from the toy up to tony again. ]

Yeah. The Japanese version of it.

Do you always get it all before it comes out in the States?

[ nods. ]

Love should not wait for localization. [ pause. ] . . . Ebay helps.

... yes, of course. How silly of me to think otherwise.

[ stares down at it again, the blush returning. ]

. . . But it's still nice. To see it in English.

[ just ruffles his hair again. ]

Do you ever get doubles?

[ tilts into the ruffling, then dislodges himself gently to return the box back onto the shelf a little reluctantly. ]

Sometimes. If I like it a lot.

[ bends down to pick up the plushes again, shifting them around in his arms. ]

That's some dedication you've got there.

It's devotion. [ shuffles on over, carefully keeping his eyes off the gundam display. eyes the cat, then the bird. stretches his arms out. ]

I can carry the bird?

[ shakes his head. ]

It'd flatten you. [ glances at the kitten plush. ] You can carry that, though. It ain't gonna bite.

[ picks up the cat slowly, staring down at it woefully as he mumbles out his complaints. ]

I never did anything to your kind. Why do you hate me. . .
