[ shivers a little underneath the covers when a chill disturbs his slumber, tucking himself a bit closer to caleb to leech off of his warmth. after a moment or two he cracks an eye open, shifting his gaze on over to the window when he feels like something is amiss. blinks once, twice, then slowly sits up in the bed as he gets a closer look at the outside world.

when he sees the snow that had piled up over the night and continued to litter the ground he can't help but get on his knees, smooshing his face and hands up against the glass as if he were an overexcited child. pries himself away after the tiniest of bounces on the bed to instead direct his attention to his sleeping companion. places a hand on his shoulder and lightly shakes. ]

Caleb. Caleb!

[ laughs a little at his excitement, holding on a bit tighter. ]

[ finally calms a little, closing his eyes & pushing his nose back into nathan's hair. deep breath in. ]

[ blinks, looking up at him again. ]

You don't want to go alone?

Maybe. If important. But is more fun when I am with Nathan.

[ lifts a finger to gently flick his forehead. ]

Well, you can do what you want. I still have to get permission from the First.

Eh? [ tilts back a bit to rub at his forehead. ] Why? Nathan do not do bad thing.

[ rolls his eyes a little bit. ]

Unlike you I don't have permission to go to another country whenever I want.

[ is quiet for a moment, thinking about this. then shakes his head, making up his mind. ]

I will not go when team need me. Do not go if Nathan do not know.

[ also grows quiet, thinking. pulls back slightly to look him in the eye properly. ]

But you can. If you wanted to. [ another pause. ] You could also stay.

I know. [ reaches up to brush the back of a hand against nathan's cheek briefly. ] But team is here now. Nathan is here. So I stay.

[ looks hopeful yet cautious as he murmurs. ]

Really...?

[ looks down and scrubs at his eyes a little, sniffing a few times as he works through many emotions. ]

[ & then he looks up, a bright smile in place. tugs a little on caleb's shirt, not bothering to hide his childish excitement. ]

You made the right choice! I'll be good. I'll even do the laundry, or whatever else you want!

[ lets him have that moment, not commenting on the tears. grins instead, shaking his head fondly. ]

But, erm. Help with cleaning--?!

[ raises a determined fist, smile still in place. ]

Ja! Point for team! Nathan and Caleb team!

[ reaches up after that to put his arms around caleb's neck, unable to stop himself from giving him an enthusiastic hug. ]

[ hugs back tightly. resting his forehead on nathan's shoulder, he noses at the side of nathan's neck, murmuring quietly. ]

I like this Christmas. Danke.

[ a softer smile crosses his lips, pushing the side of his face into caleb's hair. speaks quietly as well. ]

Mm. It's... the best Christmas.

[ holds him closer as he silently pushes aside some thoughts. ]

I will. [ sticks his nose up in the air a little, keeping their position firm. ] Santa still hasn't given me my gift, after all.
