[ a lazy summer afternoon seemed like the perfect opportunity for alyssa to drag her best friend to the tv room in the mansion; it seemed like an even better idea to play new moon as their movie of choice, having missed the chance to see it in theaters because of final exams and graduation.

she keeps quiet, too enthralled in the thought that tony had actually agreed to sit down and watch it with her... up until they get fifteen minutes into the movie, that is. shifts slightly in her position against tony, a disgruntled look appearing on her face. ]

This movie is nothing like the book!

[ nods, walking over to the phone by the bed while pulling out his wallet to fetch the said calling card. ]

[ laughs at that, shaking her head. ]

[ then shuts the door, giving him his alone time. ]

[ doesn't waste time dialing his dad's work number, waiting the few seconds ralph typically needs to answer the phone. exchanges the standard 'I'm alive' & 'yes, at the hotel' before eventually getting to 'food's in the kitchen' & 'don't get kicked around too much'. he nods when ralph tells him to have fun despite knowing the motion is pointless, says his goodbyes & hangs up.

sits, tilting his head to the side, wondering why he had heard something like a small water gun go off in the background & just shrugs. goes over to the door & gives it a knock before opening it, peeking out into the hallway. ]

[ is sitting on the floor when he comes out, face instantly brightening up at him as she pulls her eyes away from her cellphone. ]

All done?

[ takes half a second to consider his options & then comes outside to properly offer her a hand up. ]

Yeah. Onward to adventure?

[ blinks at his hand in silence, lifting her own to accept it as she pulls herself up. ]

Didn't you want to rest?

[ shrugs. ]

I'll sleep in tomorrow.

[ inspects him for a moment... and then smiles widely again. ]

I have to put on my bathing suit!

[ dislodges his hand & backs away one step. ]

[ stares at her. & stares at her some more. & then smiles a little in relief while settling himself on the floor comfortably. ]

[ 'hmph's and turns her nose up in the air, shutting the door behind herself when she goes back into the room. rummages around in one of her many bags, pouting down at her bathing suit when she pulls it out. mutters to herself: ]

You didn't have to be so comfortable with it...

[ & then changes as quickly as possible, deciding on grabbing and wrapping her white sarong around her waist to preserve some semblance of modesty. ]

[ steps out when she's finished, beaming down at him. ]

[ years of practice lets him look straight up to her face while he props himself up to his feet. ]

Yep! [ puts her hands on her hips, then pauses and looks him up and down. ] Aren't you going to change too?

[ also looks down at his attire, confused. ]

[ pouts and looks like she wants to say something, instead just nodding with a simple: ]

[ puts a hand on each of their foreheads, checking her temperature only half-jokingly. ]

[ sighs but manages a smile before nudging him, quietly leading the way. ]

[ trails after tiredly, running a hand through his bangs when she isn't looking while glancing left & right at the hotel interior at the same time. ]

A week here would be worth more than my paychecks for the entire year.
