[ exactly three and a half months later alyssa returned from her trip with her parents, feeling refreshed and rather happy in the face of what she considered a new beginning. the change of scenery was needed, as well as the lost (& hopefully only brief) contact between friends gave her more of a reason to keep going on strong; to mend things, to make things right again.

it is now that she returns to the campus, having decided that it was best to move back in with her parents for the time being. thinks she merely missed home too much to properly focus on things that needed to be focused on, knowing that the change was necessary and very much so welcomed (from her dad especially). at the moment she resides under one of the trees a bit further out from the building where her first class was held in, contently reading a book to pass the hours until her next class started. flips through it leisurely, eyes trained to focus on that and nothing more. tucks a strand of now-short hair behind an ear, feeling calm and at peace with the world as a whole. ]

Yay, it's a date~! A date!

[ finally releases her shoulders to wrap his arms around her softly. ]

First date goes to me.

[ buries into him, clinging on tightly. ]

Of course it does. You're my best friend, after all.

[ lifts her face up to peer at him, still holding on strong. ]

So tell me, what did you do this summer? Trip? Did you get me anything?

I didn't do much. Worked. . . slept in.

[ pauses, deciding to leave it at that. ] Want discounted flowers?

[ eyes brighten a tad. ]

Oh! Oh, yes please!

Forget-me-nots.

I love those~!

Lilies?

I love the smell of lilies. They're so pretty and unique-looking, too!

Then I'll get you both.

[ presses her face into his shoulder, giving the spot a tiny kiss. ]

Such a romantic hero of justice.

[ jerks a little at the words, feeling like he should recognize them despite being unable to place it specifically in his memory. but doesn't release his hold on her, sighing & closing his eyes. ]

For you, anytime.

[ blinks in surprise when she hears that sigh, looking up at him again. ]

Are you alright? [ pries a hand away, lifting it to press it against anthony's forehead. ] Not feeling well?

[ winces at his slip as he nudges her hand away with his gently. ]

Just cursing school. Supposed to be napping at this hour.

[ decides to hold that hand instead, giving it a squeeze. leans in, a mischievous look in her eyes as she says, with some kind of strange form of emphasis: ]

We should ditch.

[ ... brings up his free hand to cover his lips with the tips of his fingers. ]

Gasp.

[ laughs happily, standing up before placing her other hand around their already connected ones. gives a tug. ]

Come on! [ tugs again. ] Let's do it~!

[ pushes himself onto his feet. ]

Mister Riku would ground us if he knew.

Good thing mister Riku won't ever know.

I'm telling.

[ gasps. then lifts a hand, smacking his shoulder. ]

Don't you dare!

[ edges away & in a monotone sing-song: ]

Lyssa's gonna be in trouble~

[ puffs out her chest before raising her voice slightly, calling out like one would if they're in trouble. ]

Help, help! He's touching me in my no-no spots-!
