[ isn't entirely there even when the plane comes to a complete stop; the noise ringing in his head is as painful as he remembers it being, making him sway a bit while pressing a hand to his forehead. the world before his eyes seems to double, triple, merge back into one, then double again, while the blueprint-world throbs in noisy emptiness. makes small whimpering noises when they're walking, barely hanging onto consciousness by focusing on that comforting, erratic heartbeat he knows is near.

gropes around for a smaller hand that he knows is around (but can't remember why it would be right this moment) while mumbling absentmindedly under his breath in german, as if he's welcoming himself back home. ]

[ shakes his head quickly. ]

N-no, it's okay.

[ looks around the kitchen, spotting the fridge. points to it. ] So... water? Uh. Wasser?

[ smiles, looking pleased. ]

Ja, wasser! Nathan is good at Deutsch. [ then releases nathan's hand to rummage around (carefully) for a glass to fill with water. wanders back to hand it over. ] Only wasser? Hungry?

[ shakes his head and takes the glass. looks at it, briefly confused, but ends up looking at caleb again regardless. ]

Naw. [ rolls the cup around in his hands a little. ] Are you?

[ shakes his head. ]

Nein. See and hear okay, but is not. . . erm. . . [ flounders a little, trying his best to formulate his thoughts. ] Okay, but not okay? Not sick or hurt. . .

'Kay. [ stares at the cup again. opens his mouth, closes it. face gets a little pink. ] If you do just... ... tell me. I can uh. Cook eggs. Maybe toast if I watch it closely.

[ already in the middle of shaking his head when something seems to catch his hear. pauses shortly, then turns the shaking into a nod instead. ]

Ja. Danke! I eat Nathan food!

[ offers a small smile at that, shrugging a bit to hide his happiness from the positive response. stands there awkwardly for a moment before pointing at the fridge. ]

Um. Is the water in there, or...?

[ blinks & stares down at the glass in nathan's hand. makes a small yelping sound & grabs it from the other boy's hands. ]

Entschuldigung! [ starts rushes around the kitchen, nearly crashing into the counter when he fills it with tap water. comes back to hand the filled glass back to nathan with a sheepish look. ] Wasser!

[ blinks at the cup, taking it again. blinks up at caleb. looks a little confused... then says a bit dumbly: ]

I wash my hands with this.

Ja, but can drink too! Is clean, is okay!

Yeah... I mean, I used to hate school. A lot. I never went after-- [ stops himself. shrugs a little. ] Didn't go for a while.

But uh. Y-you made me want to. Go back, I mean. S-so I'm trying to learn a lot...

[ is silent for a moment, simply gazing at nathan for a moment. then places a gentle hand on a shoulder. leans his head in close to press his lips against the bridge of nathan's nose fondly. the motion seems less smooth than the others, as if he's reciting something from memory. ]

Is good. Learn more, know more. World is big. Is good to open to new information.

[ opens his mouth before closing it, realizing that he doesn't have a verbal reply to that. shuts his eyes instead, slightly thrown off by an urge that settles somewhat uncomfortably in the pit of his stomach. feels his hands shake a little within the thought, making him reach towards the nearest counter to set the glass of water down. repositions himself but moves his head back and away, just enough to cup his hands over caleb's cheeks.

breath hitches a little but he doesn't think twice in fear of losing his courage; tugs caleb's face down and tips his own forward, connecting their lips in a light but firm kiss. doesn't pull away immediately this time, however, instead holding onto what little bravery he has left in favor of allowing himself to get lost in the moment. ]

[ doesn't immediately respond, caught off guard at first. then he eases into the kiss, applying some pressure from his end as well as he brings up his hands to awkwardly cup at nathan's face to deepen their connection. hold their position there for a little while longer, sharing breathing space while he listens to the heavy sound of a familiar heartbeat ringing in his ears. only pulls back when he needs the air. still does not speak, just smiles, moving a thumb gently under nathan's eye. ]

[ has his eyes closed even as they part, as if he's still lost in the fuzzy haze he feels every time there is a physical connection. slowly meets his gaze, face reddening even further. can't look at caleb for too long as he averts his eyes to the side awkwardly, though stubbornly stays in place regardless. ]

[ wanders back downstairs when she thinks she's given them enough time, completely driven by her sudden need for food. struts right into the kitchen... then stops. slaps her hands over her eyes again. ]

[ thankfully when the sound of her voice hits his ears this time he doesn't scream nor do his usual babbling. instead he sort of just tries to become one with the counter behind him, going completely limp in hopes that he can instantly disappear into it somehow. ]
