[ hits send on the text message to alyssa -- that he's coming to visit for a short while -- before he starts up his scooter & steers himself in the direction of nathan's apartment. his backpack is holding only one thing, but it's precious enough of a bundle that he wears the backpack against his stomach. ignores the looks he's getting both on & off the street, parking tinkerbell in her usual corner spot. it's been almost two weeks since he's saw her (two weeks to recover), which is why he'd armed himself with a present in apology.

stands in front of the door to the stairs for a moment, wondering if he's feeling up to the physical exertion today-- then just changes direction to walk in the direction of the elevator. glances up at the ceiling of it when he's on board & pressed the proper number, feeling a little nervous for no reasons he could consciously finger. decides to shrug it off the best he can when he shuffles off it, rummaging around his backpack to take out the wrapped present before something (someone?) in front of a door catches his eye.

... stops. blinks. ]

. . . ? [ belatedly realizes that the boy is front of the door he needs to reach, making him pause, blink & speak: ] . . . Hi.

[ follows him outside after getting his own ice cream cone & paid the correct amount. settles down next to hiro on the bench, halfheartedly noming on his ice cream as he patiently waits for the verdict. ]

[ eats some more enthusiastically when he decides that he likes it. looks up at anthony briefly, down at the ice cream, then quickly types: ]

「 Good. 」

[ quirks a smile at responses in both word & action form, turning to his own treat to enjoy it in silence. ]

[ when he's gotten to munching part of the cone he looks up again. taps anthony's thigh with one of his fingers to get his attention, lifting his cellphone to show: ]

「 Thank you. 」

[ ruffles his hair gently. ]

[ flushes, pleased. types slowly as he continues to munch: ]

「 Do you have any brothers or sisters? 」

[ shakes his head. ]

Nah. Only child.

「 Me too. 」 [ stops to chew on some waffle, swinging his legs a little. ] 「 Maybe this is what it's like. 」

[ turns his eyes away from the words & toward the ground, feeling a little bashful when he understands the meaning entirely. but still lifts his hand to rest it on hiro's head again when he speaks softly: ]

Probably is what it's like.

[ opens his mouth, almost as if he's going to speak, though he just mouths the syllables without any sound attached. noms down the rest of the ice cream before he types: ]

「 Onii-san. 」

[ mouths each syllable as he reads the foreign word. tilts his head, looking as if he's about to ask. then seems to put two & two together, making him blink & voice his idea hesitantly. ]

Brother. . . ?

[ nods, pointing to anthony. ]

「 Big brother. 」 [ looks down at the phone. types then points to himself. ] 「 Otouto. 」

[ reddens a little when he feels he knows this answer. ]

L-Little brother?

[ nods furiously, lifting a hand to tug at anthony's shirt in excitement when the other gets it right. ]

[ reaches over to run his hand gently through hiro's bangs until his palm is resting on the crown of the boy's head. gives him another fond hair ruffle. ]

Good day today.

[ wiggles a little closer, nudging that hand. ]

「 Good day for me too. I am happy that I met you. 」

[ gives him few more pets. ]

[ after those pets are given he lifts up a bit to return the favor, his hand patting anthony's hair gently. ]

[ tilts down a bit to let hiro continue that more comfortably, leaning into the touches. ]

[ shifts to sit on his knees, lifting his other hand to ruffle anthony's hair. ]

[ ruffles it some more when he discovers that it poofs, endlessly amused despite the straight face. ]

[ doesn't seem to notice that his hair is beginning to poof up (as it's a normal occurrence), busily leaning & relaxing into the ruffling to the point of half-dazing where he sits tilted over. ]

[ & since there are no complaints he'll just keep on going, relaxing a bit himself. after some time he pulls back, reaching for his phone. scoots to the end of the bench, lifts his phone aaaaand-- click. ]

[ is too drowsy to respond immediately or properly react, but gradually manages to pull himself out of it. straightens himself & rubs at his neck before experimentally poking up at his hair. grimaces when he finds it poofed, but leaves it, knowing it'd be a lost battle at the moment. feels like he's missing something, but lets that slide as he rubs an eye. ]

[ while anthony goes through his waking up process he's staring down at his phone, happily moving his head side-to-side to a tune stuck in his head. looks up and nods when anthony speaks, sliding off the bench to reach for his hand again despite the distance from the ice cream shop to the scooter being short. ]
