[ shivers a little underneath the covers when a chill disturbs his slumber, tucking himself a bit closer to caleb to leech off of his warmth. after a moment or two he cracks an eye open, shifting his gaze on over to the window when he feels like something is amiss. blinks once, twice, then slowly sits up in the bed as he gets a closer look at the outside world.

when he sees the snow that had piled up over the night and continued to litter the ground he can't help but get on his knees, smooshing his face and hands up against the glass as if he were an overexcited child. pries himself away after the tiniest of bounces on the bed to instead direct his attention to his sleeping companion. places a hand on his shoulder and lightly shakes. ]

Caleb. Caleb!

[ settles against the couch to open the envelope, tugging out the piece of paper. expression shuts down for a moment, spine straightening when he catches the word S.A.V.E., eyes dragging themselves across the english with a lot of effort. ten, fifteen minutes later, he's able to pick out the most important piece of information. five more minutes of digesting it, & another to--

stares up at nathan, looking a little shocked. ]

Is real? Really?

[ bends down to rest his knees on the ground, nodding up at caleb. ]

Very real.

How--? What?

[ ... & his brain finally short-circuits. ]

Was ist passiert?!

[ blinks, suddenly looking confused at his reaction. ]

Huh? You're not happy?

I do not understand. How? I go back to Deutschland?

[ shakes his head a little, reaching out to push some hair behind caleb's ear. ]

If you want to. [ hand lingers there as he murmurs: ] You're free to do whatever you want.

[ leans forward to bump their foreheads together at those words, going a little loose-limbed. ]

But. I. Nathan not worry?

[ another shake of his head, this time lighter as to not disturb the contact. ]

No.

[ closes his eyes & draws in a quiet breath while leaning even in even further so that he can rub their noses together. ]

Danke, Nathan.

[ face takes on a pleased blush at that, nudging caleb's nose a little with his own. ]

Bitte schön.

[ nuzzles some more. ]

Is so good! Great present! I am happy! Best present!!

[ lifts both of his hands, ruffling caleb's hair as he laughs a little. ]

I'm glad!

[ leans in to kiss him, gathering him into a hug shortly afterward. ]

We go to Deutschland! Go when we want!

[ doesn't respond right away, caught off-guard by his words. opens his mouth-- then just closes it and returns the hug. decides to leave it at that, burying his face into the crook between caleb's neck and shoulder. ]

Yeah, whenever we want.

[ gives him a soft squeeze. ]

Danke! Danke! Nathan is so great! Ich liebe dich!

[ laughs a little at his excitement, holding on a bit tighter. ]

Ich liebe dich auch.

[ finally calms a little, closing his eyes & pushing his nose back into nathan's hair. deep breath in. ]

Really. Ich liebe dich. A lot.

[ face heats up at those words, suddenly feeling a little shy in the face of the calmer tone. ]

I know...

Good.

[ plants a kiss to the head. ]

Come to Deutschland with me again? Later?

[ blinks, looking up at him again. ]

You don't want to go alone?

[ shakes his head. ]

Maybe. If important. But is more fun when I am with Nathan.

[ lifts a finger to gently flick his forehead. ]

Well, you can do what you want. I still have to get permission from the First.

Eh? [ tilts back a bit to rub at his forehead. ] Why? Nathan do not do bad thing.

[ rolls his eyes a little bit. ]

Unlike you I don't have permission to go to another country whenever I want.

[ is quiet for a moment, thinking about this. then shakes his head, making up his mind. ]

I will not go when team need me. Do not go if Nathan do not know.
