[ circles around to face her boys when they get inside of the park, taking out her handy dandy map to look over it. doesn't take too long in deciding what to do first; hands go on her hips, giving them a look as if she's leading an army going to war, though the smile on her face adds something more pleasant onto the double-meaning. ]

So I was thinking that we should split up first and meet up for lunch later. It's pretty crowded today. Going in twos is the best option, since we don't want to lose any short people.

[ (un)fortunately doesn't seem to notice the birds, drawing out his cellphone when he feels it vibrate. raises an eyebrow at it, truly surprised; flips it open, gaze skimming over the text quickly. expression goes soft for a moment before rolling his eyes. doesn't text back, however, simply closing it & putting it back into his pocket. ]

[ is blind to damon's actions (it's nothing new to him), eyes closing briefly before craning his neck up to look at the sky. shifts his gaze to the families around them, sighing once before scratching the back of his head, continuing their trek in silence. ]

[ grumbles a bit under his breath about the heat, feeling his body slowing against his will. is otherwise silent, knowing a thoughtful atmosphere when he sees one. ]

[ & this is when nathan turns to him again, feeling compelled to ask something that's been on his mind for a while now, even if he's kind of struggling with it. ]

[ stops walking as well, an eyebrow going up, caught off guard. but answers honestly, as the answer comes to him instantly. ]

[ doesn't miss a beat, a hand going to his hip as he straightens into something of a preen. ]

[ continues walking, shoving his hands into his pockets. ]

[ laughs heartily, shaking his head before walking a few quick steps to catch up. gaze rolls skyward in thought now that he's had his fun, pondering. ]

S'a new environment. Nothin' like high school. Keeps you busy all the time, so you got no time to get bored. 'least for me.

[ cocks his head to the side to look at him, considering his answer. returns his gaze forward again, narrowing his eyes slightly with a small frown. ]

Yeah, but you're all... [ pauses, motioning with a hand in a halfhearted manner. ] genius-y. Or whatever.

[ looks at him from the corner of his eye then back forward. ]

I don't wanna rush through this. All there is to it.

[ steals another long glance after he's through, not speaking for a while. throws his hands behind his own head to cup it, shifting to lightly nudge damon's side. speaks nonchalantly, like he's not trying to be encouraging. ]

Well, whatever, you've got like, what, a million years of school left? So you've got boatloads of time to enjoy it.

[ looks slightly embarrassed but satisfied at the same time, not bothering to say anything more than that for now. ]

[ & slips back into silence after that, but it takes only a few more minutes for them to arrive at their destination.

stops when he sees the line-up, the corner of his eye twitching. ]

The hell? Is this gonna be worth the crazy waiting?

[ stares at the line as well, looking self-righteously angry at the sight. ]

[ ponders something briefly. suddenly grabs damon's wrist, pulling him along to another destination. ]

[ response is cut short when he feels the tugging, stumbling the first few steps in surprise. grumbles a bit at the resulting imbalance but recovers it soon enough to go along with it without much protest, curiosity perked. ]

[ finally they approach these boxes that people are sticking their tickets in. goes to an empty one, releasing damon's wrist. puts his own hands on his hips, clearing his throat. gestures to the box. ]

This is where you get something called a Fastpass.

I know what you're wondering: "What in the world is a Fastpass?" Well, a Fastpass... uh. Lets you get into rides faster. Yeah.

[ rolls his eyes yet again. ruffles nathan's hair with more force than usual, messing it up & looks at the time on the pass, pockets it. ]
