[ a lazy summer afternoon seemed like the perfect opportunity for alyssa to drag her best friend to the tv room in the mansion; it seemed like an even better idea to play new moon as their movie of choice, having missed the chance to see it in theaters because of final exams and graduation.

she keeps quiet, too enthralled in the thought that tony had actually agreed to sit down and watch it with her... up until they get fifteen minutes into the movie, that is. shifts slightly in her position against tony, a disgruntled look appearing on her face. ]

This movie is nothing like the book!

[ & keeps moving backwards, getting onto one foot to bolt if necessary. ]

[ eventually crawls on up to him, not making any sudden movements just yet. ]

[ reached the wall by now & is using that as leverage to upright himself more fully. ]

[ sits up on her knees, tugging on the waistline of his pants. ]

[ immediately gets to his feet & starts for the door. ]

[ leaps at him, wrapping her arms around his waist to keep him in place. ]

[ freezes. then starts trying to drag himself away. ]

But. Emergency!

Don't you lie to your girlfriend!

[ just. stares down at her, his next words coming out with his next exhale. ]

. . . why is that necessary?

[ beams up at him. ]

[ pouts, slowly letting go of him. ]

You don't really want to go home, do you? I was only kidding...

[ buries his face into his hands in misery, trying to quell the blushing somewhat. ]

Can I go call my dad?

[ blinks, trying to peer at his face. ]

[ looks down at her finally. ]

[ blinks some more... then reaches into her pocket, pulling out her cellphone. hands it to him, giving him a push out the door. ]

[ stumbles forward a bit & then blinks before turning to offer back her cellphone. ]

Oh? [ takes it back, pocketing it once more. ] Well, alright.

[ & then twirls in front of him, opening the door to step out. ]

Then use the phone in here and I'll wait outside, okay?

[ nods, walking over to the phone by the bed while pulling out his wallet to fetch the said calling card. ]

[ laughs at that, shaking her head. ]

Take your time!

[ then shuts the door, giving him his alone time. ]

[ doesn't waste time dialing his dad's work number, waiting the few seconds ralph typically needs to answer the phone. exchanges the standard 'I'm alive' & 'yes, at the hotel' before eventually getting to 'food's in the kitchen' & 'don't get kicked around too much'. he nods when ralph tells him to have fun despite knowing the motion is pointless, says his goodbyes & hangs up.

sits, tilting his head to the side, wondering why he had heard something like a small water gun go off in the background & just shrugs. goes over to the door & gives it a knock before opening it, peeking out into the hallway. ]
