[ exactly three and a half months later alyssa returned from her trip with her parents, feeling refreshed and rather happy in the face of what she considered a new beginning. the change of scenery was needed, as well as the lost (& hopefully only brief) contact between friends gave her more of a reason to keep going on strong; to mend things, to make things right again.

it is now that she returns to the campus, having decided that it was best to move back in with her parents for the time being. thinks she merely missed home too much to properly focus on things that needed to be focused on, knowing that the change was necessary and very much so welcomed (from her dad especially). at the moment she resides under one of the trees a bit further out from the building where her first class was held in, contently reading a book to pass the hours until her next class started. flips through it leisurely, eyes trained to focus on that and nothing more. tucks a strand of now-short hair behind an ear, feeling calm and at peace with the world as a whole. ]

[ blinks a few times at the sudden contact, but it's gone as soon as she feels her typical surge of happiness run through her body. wiggles out of his hold to face him, wrapping her arms around his middle to rub her face into his chest. ]

What'd you do in Italy?

[ tilts her head up a little to look at him. ]

I saw everything! Stayed at a hotel, had breakfast in bed with mommy and daddy. Took lots of photos, so I'll have to show you them sometime. Maybe later? If you don't mind driving to my house, of course.

[ jerks a little at the words, feeling like he should recognize them despite being unable to place it specifically in his memory. but doesn't release his hold on her, sighing & closing his eyes. ]

[ blinks in surprise when she hears that sigh, looking up at him again. ]

Are you alright? [ pries a hand away, lifting it to press it against anthony's forehead. ] Not feeling well?

[ winces at his slip as he nudges her hand away with his gently. ]

Just cursing school. Supposed to be napping at this hour.

[ decides to hold that hand instead, giving it a squeeze. leans in, a mischievous look in her eyes as she says, with some kind of strange form of emphasis: ]
