[ isn't entirely there even when the plane comes to a complete stop; the noise ringing in his head is as painful as he remembers it being, making him sway a bit while pressing a hand to his forehead. the world before his eyes seems to double, triple, merge back into one, then double again, while the blueprint-world throbs in noisy emptiness. makes small whimpering noises when they're walking, barely hanging onto consciousness by focusing on that comforting, erratic heartbeat he knows is near.

gropes around for a smaller hand that he knows is around (but can't remember why it would be right this moment) while mumbling absentmindedly under his breath in german, as if he's welcoming himself back home. ]

[ then stops mid-action to pause & stare down at the case curiously. ]

. . . ? Is wasser, and. . . ehhh. . .

[ stares at him. gives a sigh, using his free hand to point down at the case. ]

Contacts. Con-tacts. [ points to his now-green eyes. points down to the contacts again. ] Put in eye. Changes eye color. Dries up fast on trips.

[ peers at the contacts a little while longer before looking at nathan's face as the boy had once pointed. then blinks. eyes widen briefly in amazement, but the mood seems to quickly fall when a more important thought hits him. ]

Hurt, but change colour? Why? Nathan is not happy with eye?

[ looks down at the case in his hands as his eyes grown dimmer. reaches over to grab the caps and screw them back on, leaning his back on the edge of the sink's counter. it takes him a while to think of the right words to say, shoulders sagging a bit when he decides to make it as short as possible. ]

My family has the same eye color. Exactly the same. I don't like it, so I use these instead.

Oh, uh. This isn't my real hair color either. My hair's black, but everyone else in my family has black hair too, so...

[ puts the hand down. lips twitch up into a smile when a thought hits him, though it's a little more sad than initially intended. ]

Y'know, even if we're... [ pauses, not sure how to describe whatever is going on between them. just ends up shaking his head. ] We haven't told one another anything, really. I haven't. Sorry.

[ steps closer to wrap his arms around nathan gently when he sees that smile, head resting on the smaller boy's. ]

[ fits into him nicely within the hug, his own arms reaching around to return it. blinks at caleb's last words, slowly peeking up at him as best as possible. ]

[ stares at him for a bit longer. puts his head back to caleb's chest, muttering to himself: ]

Of course. I'm an idiot, I should've learned that by now.

[ pauses again. feels himself blush with just one thought but doesn't allow himself to think about it too long in fear of chickening out; lifts up to press a small, soundless kiss to the junction between caleb's neck and shoulder in thanks. quickly ducks and pushes his face back into his chest, clinging on a bit tighter. ]

M-maybe I'll... s-stop using them when I'm with you...

[ blinks again, but this time in surprise at the initiative, glancing down at nathan. grips back just as firmly, however, responding to the cling. gives the head another nuzzle, reassuring him despite the question at his lips. ]

Is okay? I am okay with green or brown, but is Nathan okay?

[ just keeps himself firmly planted, still embarrassed by the gesture. gives a small nod nonetheless. ]
