[ hits send on the text message to alyssa -- that he's coming to visit for a short while -- before he starts up his scooter & steers himself in the direction of nathan's apartment. his backpack is holding only one thing, but it's precious enough of a bundle that he wears the backpack against his stomach. ignores the looks he's getting both on & off the street, parking tinkerbell in her usual corner spot. it's been almost two weeks since he's saw her (two weeks to recover), which is why he'd armed himself with a present in apology.

stands in front of the door to the stairs for a moment, wondering if he's feeling up to the physical exertion today-- then just changes direction to walk in the direction of the elevator. glances up at the ceiling of it when he's on board & pressed the proper number, feeling a little nervous for no reasons he could consciously finger. decides to shrug it off the best he can when he shuffles off it, rummaging around his backpack to take out the wrapped present before something (someone?) in front of a door catches his eye.

... stops. blinks. ]

. . . ? [ belatedly realizes that the boy is front of the door he needs to reach, making him pause, blink & speak: ] . . . Hi.

[ reaches over to ruffle his hair. ]

[ looks extremely pleased at the hair ruffling, basking in it for a moment. then tugs at anthony's hand, signaling that they should cross before it's too late. ]

[ glances up at the 'go' sign again, then starts leads them onward. not speaking until they're across. ]

How about fried rice?

... ? [ tilts head up at him. ] 「 That's an American dish? 」

[ shrugs. ]

No. But it tastes good.

[ thinks about it... then just nods. ]

「 Okay. 」

[ peers down at. ]

Did you want something else?

[ pointedly shakes his head a few times in response. ]

[ shrugs, accepting that answer as they near his scooter again. picks up the helmet & hands it to hiro. ]

Do you want ice cream?

[ takes it and looks up at him. eyes widen a little at the offer, nodding. ]

[ settles onto tinkerbell & gives the seat behind him a pat. ]

It's a bit far, but it's also on the way to my apartment.

[ snaps on the helmet before he scrambles up onto the scooter, having to clutch and grab at anthony to keep himself from falling off on the way up. when he sits he adjusts himself accordingly, clinging onto the older boy as he peers up at him with an expectant look on his face. ]

Beep beep. [ but of course, it isn't for another few minutes until tinkerbell starts to work -- putt putt putt. leads the scooter onto the road, going at a steady pace until he feels that hiro's grown accustomed to transportation-by-scooter enough to let him hit the accelerator. doesn't speak for the duration of the journey, almost mindlessly steering until he makes the final turn into the street with his ice cream shop of choice.

slows down, stops, but he himself doesn't move until tinkerbell is silent again. finally turns to give hiro a look to signal that they've arrived. ]

[ slides off after anthony speaks, fumbling with the helmet briefly before handing it to his companion. swings his backpack around to rummage through it. takes out a sheet of pokemon stickers, peels one off, then sticks it on anthony's hand. types: ]

「 Tip. 」

[ stares at it, then carefully peels it off so that he can stick it on the helmet instead. rubs his finger over it several times to make sure that it's properly stuck, then draws back to nod in approval. ]

Thank you, sir.

[ puts everything back into place, hands going to his hips proudly. then starts moving to go towards the shop, stopping to look at anthony. holds out his hand. ]

[ shuffles on over to take his hand, giving him a small squeeze. leads them into the shop & gestures to the counter where the different types of waffle cones are being displayed. ]

You can pick up to three flavours in one of those.

[ cranes his neck up to look at the flavors. tilts his head a little bit, taking out his phone again to type: ]

「 What do you get? 」

[ shrugs. ]

Depends on the day.

「 What about today? 」

[ checks his phone quickly for the day, then says immediately: ]

Cookies and cream.

「 I haven't ever had that before. 」

. . . I'll fix this.

[ tugs them forward when it's their turn to order. points to a standard waffle cone for himself, then pauses. looks down at. ] Which cone?

[ looks them over. wordlessly points to the one that looks like it has chocolate sprinkles on it. ]

[ nods & places their order, each with a scoop of cookies & cream. passes the ice cream over to hiro when it's handed over to him. ]
