[ shivers a little underneath the covers when a chill disturbs his slumber, tucking himself a bit closer to caleb to leech off of his warmth. after a moment or two he cracks an eye open, shifting his gaze on over to the window when he feels like something is amiss. blinks once, twice, then slowly sits up in the bed as he gets a closer look at the outside world.

when he sees the snow that had piled up over the night and continued to litter the ground he can't help but get on his knees, smooshing his face and hands up against the glass as if he were an overexcited child. pries himself away after the tiniest of bounces on the bed to instead direct his attention to his sleeping companion. places a hand on his shoulder and lightly shakes. ]

Caleb. Caleb!

[ watches nathan lay there on the ground with his face in the snow, eyes going back to caleb when he's gotten his fill of the pathetic sight. ]

Hey. [ holds up a bag. ] We brought cake.

[ almost smashes his face into the bag in his enthusiasm, sniffing at it. ]

Cake! Danke! What kind?

[ chimes in, a little shyly. ]

S-Strawberry shortcake.

[ jabs his thumb in hana's direction. ]

[ eyes go right to hana, his expression naked with admiration. ] Frau Hana is sick!

... ? [ tilts her head a little. ] I am?

[ opens his mouth. closes it. just stands there looking as amused as he can get, allowing them a moment as he steps away to go taunt help nathan. ]

[ blinks at the question, looking elsewhere in thought as she struggles with the word herself. after a few "um"s and "ano"s underneath her breath: ]

[ another pause as he tries to take the word apart in hopes of understanding it. when he finds that he can't get past 'hip', he shakes his head. ]

[ nods at that, bowing her head politely as she speaks, a little enthusiasm attached. ]

M-Merry Christmas, Caleb-san! Have you been well?

Very good! I have been cooking much-- ah, a lot! What have you been doing?

[ continues to look pleased until a thought strikes her when she looks down at the bag in her hands, face falling a little. ]

Aah... should I have cooked more food?

[ finally comes up beside them again with nathan, hands shoved into his pockets. ]

Now that the shortest is alive--[ completely ignores the HEY! nathan shouts. ]--I think we should go inside and get this party started.

[ vibrates a little in his excitement, bounding the first few steps toward the apartment building. ]

[ nods and follows along with the rest of the team, deciding to make idle chatter with caleb while nathan and hana do their own thing. ]
