[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she ~~gleefully~~ casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ~~ninja~~ butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

[ trots into the bathroom after being given the okay, shutting the door before wiggling out of her clothes to slip on caleb's. looks at herself in the mirror, tugging her hairband out to let her hair down. nods and comes out to stand in front of caleb, putting her hands on her hips while puffing out her chest a little. ]

< How do I look? >

[ blinks at her, looking more & more apologetic. ]

< Erm. . . > [ seems to flounder for a moment, then just blurts out: ] < I'm sorry, Nathan-ee-ah! Should I try to find something smaller? Maybe I still have some of my kid-clothes left over. . . >

[ thought she looked pretty okay, up until he says that. see icon for current expression as she squeaks out: ]

< K-KID CLOTHES?! >

< Yes! Smaller clothes that might fit you better. That would be more comfortable, right? >

< B-But...! > [ squats on the ground, curling up a little bit as she clings to the clothes. ] < I'm... I'm fine in these! Grown-up clothes! I can wear them! >

. . . ? [ peers over at her curiously. ] < But aren't they uncomfortable? You're always going to have to pull them up. >

[ puffs out her cheeks and looks at herself. peers down the hole of the shirt at the shorts. ]

< Maybe if I just wear the shirt... it's long enough, right? >

[ tilts his head a bit. ]

< Oh! Like a dress? >

[ nods, standing up to see if it'll be okay. ]

< Yeah, a gown. > [ pauses. ] < Evening gown? No... night. Nightgown. A nightgown. >

[ beams proudly. ]

< Nightgown! Nathan-ee-ah is getting so good at German! Better than me! >

[ flushes proudly, waddling on over to him so she can plop down next to him. nuzzles her face into his side. ]

< I'm trying really hard! For you! >

[ wraps his arms around her to draw her close, nosing at the top of her head. ]

< Thank you. Nathan-ee-ah is the first to try so hard for just me. >

[ lips twitch into a shy smile, twisting a bit so she can wrap her own arms around his middle. ]

< It's because I love you. >

[ carefully pushes down a thought so that he simply focus on leaning down to kiss her forehead, the bridge of her nose & the tip of her nose. ]

< I love you too, Nathan-ee-ah. Always! >

[ giggles and wiggles a little at the affection, lifting up to peck him quickly on the lips. ]

< Forever and ever? >

< Forever and ever and ever! >

[ pushes her face back into his chest, relaxing into him. ]

< Then that's all I need. >

[ holds her as close as comfort allows, relaxing back into the couch. ]

< Nathan-ee-ah doesn't want anything else? I can try to get it for you if I'm able to. . . >

[ shakes her head. ]

< Not right now. > [ pauses, thinking. ] < Well. Some things, but maybe when I'm older... >

[ blinks a bit. ]

< Are they the adult-only things that Hilda talks about sometimes? They're always so confusing. . . I must try harder to understand them! >

[ isn't sure how to respond to that for a moment. after a while of contemplating, she laughs weakly. ]

< It's okay, you don't have to worry about it. >

[ leans away a bit to blink down at her. ]

< Really? It's not important to understand? >

< It is, but... > [ makes a face, thinking about it. and then shrinks a little bit, speaking slowly: ] < I guess... if we stay together. For a long time. Maybe. Or something... >

[ blinks & seems to do one of his mental shrugs, leaning close to her again. ]

< Okay. Then I will think about it later because we will stay together for that long time! >

[ nods, deciding it's best to leave it at that. snuggles into him. ]

< I hope so. >
