[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she gleefully casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ninja butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

[ & "casually suggesting" is the equivalent of a command to him in that he can't (won't) say no. it does, however, take many minutes to be convinced that the bad man won't be around, both by nathania & himself, but he's yapping setting out of his apartment soon enough. it takes quite some time to reach the mansion by foot of course, but walking is always, always preferable so he doesn't even think to take a taxi or any other vehicles. besides, hilda always said walking is good exercise.

some untold time later, he gets close enough to see the mansion in the corner of his sight/hearing. noticing nathania near the door & a pleasing lack of the bad man within the mansion grounds, he scampers right on up the stairs leading to the doors & knocks. ]

[ perks up immediately, quickly making her way to the doors to fling them open and immediately hug caleb upon first sight. ]

[ after some more clinging hugging: reaches up with both hands to tug at caleb's cheeks, pinching the skin. is still smiling regardless, of course. ]

Es ist in Ordnung. [ takes his hand instead, tugging at it. ] Let's just go upstairs, okay?

See baby, yes. [ begins their walk, peering up at caleb as they go along. switches to german, for his sake: ] < He's gotten so big! And he babbles a lot now, too. >

[ reaches over with her free hand to pat caleb's own. ]

[ gives the hand he's holding a squeeze & is quiet for a while, thinking his answer through ]

< Erm. . . I guess he's not an evil person, but I don't get a good feeling around him. >

[ perks up when they arrive at their destination, removing her hand from caleb's own to peek inside the baby's nursery. nods a little to the ninja butler at lyssa's crib, who promptly ninjas out leaves when they enter in full.

scoots quickly over to peer down at the baby, beaming happily while he stares up at her. ]

Good morning, sleepy head! You had a good nap, didn't you? [ reaches down to tickle his stomach. ] Yes you did!

[ peers over the bars of the crib, just watching nathania & the baby interact, trying to make his smile as nice-looking as possible. ]

[ after a moment or two of cooing, she looks back over to caleb. a pause later: ]

... you don't have to strain yourself, you know. He likes everyone.

[ startles a bit, blinking owlishly at the sudden change in language. scrambling for his derplish english, he says slowly: ]

Nein! Erm-- ja! But want to look good! A good man so baby is not afraid.

[ reaches down when lyssa makes grabby hands at her, hoisting him up to rest on her chest and shoulder. ]

If he adores Albert, then he's certainly not gonna be afraid of you.
