[ ignores the strange looks from the passing drivers as he travels leisurely on his scooter. the sound of the characteristic putt putt putt noise of his transportation fills the driveway when he arrives in front of the mansion. it takes him another minute (or two) to properly park & put the machine to rest.

straightens & leans back in the seat a little as he takes out his phone to quickly type a text message: let me be your guest, mademoiselle & looks up toward a window to wait. ]

[ doesn't hesitate in lifting her arm to punch tony in the stomach. pulls back her fist and sparkles up at him. ]

What was that? "I'd love to get you two something to drink"? How thoughtful of you!

[ holds his stomach and bends slightly, clearly in pain. ]

Can we please stop with the punching... I don't think I can take much more of this...

[ arm drops again with resignation this time, especially upon catching that uncomfortable look on tony's face. hides his disappointment with the surprise of the sudden punch to his friend's gut, eyes going a little wide. gives another pet to alyssa's hair & then tilts his head at tony with a slightly apologetic look. ]

[ perks up immediately, as if he weren't in pain just a second ago. ]

[ nods & stares down at alyssa, giving her a little nudge as well as a reassuring squeeze to their hug before pulling away carefully. ]

[ pouts and lets go of him, replying in a somewhat child-like tone. ]

[ takes the initiative to grab a hold of her hand. then turns to fix tony a stare & after a minute's debate, doesn't offer his other hand. ]

In T-minus 5 seconds, we face the armies of Mordor. Remember to be brave.

Then I, the mighty ranger, shall take the lead, for I must save the hobbit and elf at my side! [ makes sword-like waving motions with his left hand. ] EN GARDE, EVIL FOES!

[ stares blankly at the back of tony's head. ]

[ puffs out his chest, turning to look at anthony. ]

[ eyes go briefly to the floor. when he centers himself again, he offers the hand connected to alyssa's. ]

Strong enough to lead the princess to the drinks?

[ looks down at her hand, something flickering across his face for a split-second. recovers soon enough to reach out and transfer alyssa's hand into his own. ]

[ gives anthony a sulky look before giving tony a irritated one. holds on regardless, for the sake of their friend. ]

[ is trailing close behind, close enough to be reached for should alyssa need him. keeps silent until they get to the table. doesn't reach for his punch to glance at his two friends instead. ]

Bathroom break. Are we still going to be family when I get back?

[ one more backward glance at alyssa & then he's off, head tilted upward as he searches out for the bathroom signs while attempting to weave through the crowd at the same time. ]

[ watches him walk off, turning back to alyssa only when he loses sight of anthony. looks down at their hands and slowly lets go, putting both of them on his hips. after a pause he gestures to the table. ]

So! What'll it be? We've got Coke, Pepsi, 7-Up, Sprite, fruit punch, water...

[ doesn't look too impressed, quickly crossing her arms over her chest just in case he changes his mind with the hand-holding thing. ]

Punch... but I can get it myself!

[ rolls his eyes up to the ceiling briefly to sigh. ] Uh-huh. [ then looks back down at her, a happy look on his face. ]

Did you have a nice summer with the hobbit? Heard you guys went to Hawaii. Did you bring anything back for me?

He's not a hobbit. [ & then pauses, blushing and looking away. ] We had fun... or at least I did.

[ raises an eyebrow, hoping she'd elaborate more. when she doesn't he picks up a pepsi and responds: ]

Huh. Sounds like a blast.

[ nods and then looks up at him after getting her punch. ]

It was actually pretty awesome! I loved it there, especially the small, underpopulated places. Got you guys gifts, but I left them at home since I didn't know I'd be seeing you here. Took lots of photos, so we should all get together sometime after I get them developed, yeah?
