[ it was with some strange stroke of luck that nathan had confirmed the non-presence of albert, brianna, and damon in the mansion for the weekend, almost suspiciously double-checking with them all to make sure; albert was off to god knows where, brianna flew out to hawaii for a photo shoot, and damon was spending some quality time with his friends before the summer officially came to a close.

nathan didn't think it would be this simple. lo and behold, the mansion was completely his for the taking for at least two and a half days. this prompted the almost juvenile-like excitement that overcame him when he invited caleb over for a real two-night stay inside the mansion, to show him where he lived (where he didn't like to live) and let him explore what he normally did not allow people to see. so this is why he tugged at caleb's hand enthusiastically, his body betraying the way he tried to school his expression, knowing somewhere in the back of his mind that in the end it was quite a futile attempt.

stops when they're far enough inside the mansion, not bothering to let caleb's hand go as he turns slightly to look at him. ]

Well, here we are. [ a pause, as if his excitement was slowly wearing off. ] Again.

... okay. I'll be over here, then.

[ gently lets go of his hand. walks to his bed to sit on the edge of it, silently watching caleb. ]

[ picks up the receiver. pauses. looks back at nathan. ]

. . . What is number?

. . .

[ gets up again and walks back on over. takes the phone, dials the number, then gives it back to caleb. ]

[ says a quick 'danke!' before turning his attentions to the phone. ]

Erm. H- Hallo?! One pizza, bitte!

[ as nathan dutifully returns to his post, though this time he rests on his stomach and places his chin on top of his palms, half paying attention to caleb and half getting lost in his own thoughts. ]

[ after the initial minute of stuttering & yammering, seems to hit it off with whoever is on the other end, exchanging a string of casual talk. thus it takes a while before any real business is conducted regarding the pizza.

it's five minutes later that he finally hangs up, cheeks flushed with pride as he bounds over to where nathan is resting. ]

Pizza come in twenty minutes!

[ seems to snap out of his thoughts when caleb returns, giving an encouraging smile as he waves him down so that he can pet his head. ]

You did really good. [ pauses. ] Though you could've done without the long talk, but it sounded like you had fun, so it's okay.

[ sits on the floor, nudging at nathan's hand with his head already. ]

Erm. . . Es tut mir leid, Nathan. Is fun, and person is very friendly. Promise for good pizza!

[ chuckles slightly, stroking his hair more fondly. ]

I know. What kind of stuff did you get on it?

Everything! They give good idea!

Experts on pizza, I guess...

Ja! So will taste good. Very good!

[ without thinking he leans forward to press a small kiss on the crown of his head. ]

Good, 'cause I'm really hungry.

[ twists his head up just at the right time so that the kiss lands on his forehead instead. ]

Me too. Pizza is here soon.

[ pulls back slowly, eyes averting elsewhere. cheeks warm up a bit again. ]

My hero.

[ laughs again, straightening his spine a bit to be at the right height to nuzzle at him. ]

Like Superman!

[ is surprised for only a split second, not being able to hold back a laugh when caleb's hair tickles him a bit. ]

Yeah, Superman.

[ keeps nuzzling him. ]

Nathan laugh is nice.

[ stops to think about it. when nothing profound comes to mind he at least manages to say: ]

O-oh...

[ looks energetic & determined. ]

I make Nathan laugh more!

B-but. I don't need to laugh...

But sound is nice! Good to hear.

[ doesn't know what to say to that after a moment of thought, letting his head fall onto caleb's shoulder instead. ]

[ automatically leans his own head against nathan's. ]

Is new. Is very nice.

[ doesn't speak for a moment, too busy shifting to press his forehead into the crook between caleb's neck and shoulder. ]

I'll... try harder to. Not easy for me.
