[ pulls onto the street across from anthony's apartment complex to park his car, turning the vehicle off before leaning back into the seat in silence. a day when they're both free was rare to come by nowadays, thus the sudden decision to grab the boy when he was given the a-okay by anthony himself. only this time he was going to him instead of the other way around, a good way to practice on getting back into something more comfortable with the friend(s) he had not been able to spend time with as often as he would have liked. still, it was a good start, and that's really all that mattered to him.

drums his fingers against the steering wheel in thought, shaking his head before getting out of the car, pocketing his keys after he's locked up. doesn't take any time in doing the typical routine (that he had not been able to do in quite some time)-- walks in, waits for the elevator, steps inside to push the button for the correct floor number, then strolls on out when the ding signals his arrival. his feet carry him at a leisurely pace towards the apartment, arriving in no time at all; after he knocks he shoves his hands into his pockets, taking a look around the hallway as if this were his first time visiting. a moment's thought makes him grin to himself a little (the things that happened last time they were alone together, still going over that day with some fondness attached despite the bad moments), schooling the smile to instead train his eyes on the door to wait for his friend to appear. ]

[ raises an eyebrow down at anthony, stopping right in front of the store when the other grabs onto him, looking quite amused. ]

Oh, I'm not getting anything for me.

[ grip tightens as he tries to yank him backward, trying to put some distance between them & the store. ]

My day! No sexy females today! Some other time! Store'll be open tomorrow too--?!

[ tilts his head a bit and blinks, not moving an inch. ]

But you're about the right size for the girl I want to buy something for.

[ chokes & tugs some more. ]

I gots no parts! No. . . no natural bounciness-- uh-- parts!

She's pretty flat chested, so that's no problem. [ tugs him this time. ] C'mon, it's not that bad. It ain't got any sex toys in it or anything, just lingerie.

[ stumbles forward at the tug, then tugs right back, breath increasingly growing shallow in panic. voice rises in volume for a second. ]

[ comes back down to normal octave. ] It's still bad! Why is it always underw-- r-reschedule?!

[ glances around when a bunch of people look their way at anthony's exclamation. gives his friend an unpleasant look. ]

Could you say that any louder?

[ scratches the back of his head, observing the blushing boy for a while longer. sighs a bit, resting a hand on top of anthony's head. ]

Fine, fine. I guess we can go some other time.

[ takes two deep breaths, finally relaxing a bit. murmurs out a stuttered 'sorry' regarding his outburst, then gives tony another tug backwards. ]

Some other time. Yeah. [ never? ] Uh. A-Anywhere else. . . you wanted to go?

[ hums and looks up at the second level. ]

Movie store, maybe, but I can do that later. [ back to anthony: ] Didn't you want to go to another toy store or somethin'?

[ releases tony & turns away a tad so that the store is no longer in his line of sight. rustles the bag in his possession. ]

It's okay. You got me three already.

[ shakes his head, keeping his own hand on top of anthony's head. ruffles the hair a little despite looking down at him fondly. ]

I don't mind. Call it an apology for not being around as much as I should be.

[ leans against that hand as he relaxes even more upon hearing those words, turning around to bump his head against tony's shoulder. speaks quietly. ]

I don't mind it. You're here now.

[ shakes his head a little. ]

I mind. [ moves a bit close to put an arm around anthony, leaning down slightly to peer at his face. ] We can buy something for Alyssa too?

[ peers up at him, then back down, unable to comfortably meet his eye for a prolonged period of time. glances around the stores surrounding them as he considers those words. ]

Good idea. Her pain week's coming up.

[ considers those words briefly, coming to a conclusion that he gets the drift relatively well. just nods. ]

Alright. [ begins to steer them away. ] What kind of stuff would she like?

I usually get her chocolate.

Then I'll get her something else. You'll give it to her for me, yeah?

[ gives his side an awkward pat. ]

[ briefly glances down at the bag anthony's holding. puts on a small smile. ]

Alright. But for now we should look for her stuff.

[ nudges him in a particular direction. ]

[ reaches down for his friend's hand instead of keeping his arm around his shoulders, beginning their trek on over to the requested store. ]

[ squeezes that hand as he follows along, making sure that he's out of tony's sight (even from the side) when he feels his face heat up again as he follows along. ]

A box is usually good.
