[ hits send on the text message to alyssa -- that he's coming to visit for a short while -- before he starts up his scooter & steers himself in the direction of nathan's apartment. his backpack is holding only one thing, but it's precious enough of a bundle that he wears the backpack against his stomach. ignores the looks he's getting both on & off the street, parking tinkerbell in her usual corner spot. it's been almost two weeks since he's saw her (two weeks to recover), which is why he'd armed himself with a present in apology.

stands in front of the door to the stairs for a moment, wondering if he's feeling up to the physical exertion today-- then just changes direction to walk in the direction of the elevator. glances up at the ceiling of it when he's on board & pressed the proper number, feeling a little nervous for no reasons he could consciously finger. decides to shrug it off the best he can when he shuffles off it, rummaging around his backpack to take out the wrapped present before something (someone?) in front of a door catches his eye.

... stops. blinks. ]

. . . ? [ belatedly realizes that the boy is front of the door he needs to reach, making him pause, blink & speak: ] . . . Hi.

[ glances down at the gundam model, feeling a bit torn. then shakes it off to look back up. ]

Okay. What do I call you?

「 Hiroyuki. 」 [ then, as an afterthought: ] 「 Call me Hiro. 」

[ smiles slowly. ]

Hiro. I can do that.

[ nods firmly, a pleased flush on his face. lifts up a hand, pinky finger extended. types one-handed: ]

「 Tomodachi. 」

[ hooks his pinky finger around hiro's while reading out the word flashed to him. ]

Toe-mo-da-chi?

[ thinks about it briefly, and then: ]

「 Friend. We are friends. 」

[ nods once & bounces their connected hands up & down twice. ]

My first Japanese friend.

[ puffs up happily. puts down his cellphone so that he could pick up the pikachu plush. removes his own pinky finger, replacing it with one of pikachu's paws. bounces their connection. ]

[ freezes for a moment, just barely managing to mouth 'cute'. pulls his hand away to rub at pikchu's head. ]

We're friends too?

[ nods, lifting the plush further to press its mouth against anthony's. squeezes-- pi-KA-chu! ]

[ jumps a bit, then rubs his face against the pikachu plush. ]

Let's be good friends, Pikachu.

[ lifts his phone when he sees the rubbing. makes sure it's at a good angle so that he can snap a photo of it-- click.

puts his toy back onto his lap, looking down at the photo. swings his legs around a little in happiness. ]

[ stares at the phone blankly for a moment before a look of worry gradually starts to settle on his face. ]

. . . Uh.

[ eyes go upward slowly, head tilted to the side. looks back down to type in a filename. holds it up, showing anthony that it says: first friend. ]

[ shakes his head. ]

[ changes it: pika-chu with first friend. ]

[ reaches over to give him another pat & a short hair ruffle. ]

[ wiggles a little in his seat, clearly happy with the touch. ]

「 Will my friend wait for Nathan too? 」

[ pauses for a long time, scratching the side of his head uncertainly. then breathes out. ]

. . . You can. Stay. . . with me? Until he comes back. If you. . . uh. Want?

[ gets up off his seat, scooting forward to tug at anthony's shirt with both his hands. releases them only to type: ]

「 Yes please! 」

[ blinks, not having expected to get such an enthusiastic response. nods to himself. ]

Okay. Then you can use my room. My dad's away, so I can use his. . .
