[ pulls onto the street across from anthony's apartment complex to park his car, turning the vehicle off before leaning back into the seat in silence. a day when they're both free was rare to come by nowadays, thus the sudden decision to grab the boy when he was given the a-okay by anthony himself. only this time he was going to him instead of the other way around, a good way to practice on getting back into something more comfortable with the friend(s) he had not been able to spend time with as often as he would have liked. still, it was a good start, and that's really all that mattered to him.

drums his fingers against the steering wheel in thought, shaking his head before getting out of the car, pocketing his keys after he's locked up. doesn't take any time in doing the typical routine (that he had not been able to do in quite some time)-- walks in, waits for the elevator, steps inside to push the button for the correct floor number, then strolls on out when the ding signals his arrival. his feet carry him at a leisurely pace towards the apartment, arriving in no time at all; after he knocks he shoves his hands into his pockets, taking a look around the hallway as if this were his first time visiting. a moment's thought makes him grin to himself a little (the things that happened last time they were alone together, still going over that day with some fondness attached despite the bad moments), schooling the smile to instead train his eyes on the door to wait for his friend to appear. ]

[ does as he's told, then eyes the chicken under tony's arm. ]

[ his eyes follow anthony's line of sight. pauses, then looks back up at him. ]

I'm not buying it for you.

[ ... long pause. opens mouth, pauses again. then finally: ]

. . . You like chickens?

Only one chicken. [ leaves it at that as he turns the plush around so that it's facing him, giving it a long look. quirks a soft smile. ] It's for someone else.

[ looks torn between feeling pleased & embarrassed, settling in for something middle-ground. leans back a bit, nods. ]

'Kay. [ shifts. ] Uh. . . thanks.

[ gives him a short nod and a shrug in reply, tucking them all into his arms. turns his head in different directions, then back at anthony. ]

Anything else you wanted to look at in here?

[ doesn't miss a beat. ]

[ slowly starts to put away the plush that supposedly looks like him. ]

[ grabs at the offending wrist with both hands. ]

Done, done! I'm done!

[ gives him a look that says that's what i thought before moving towards the cashier, adjusting the plushes in his arms. ]

[ shoulder droops in defeat as he trails after slowly but obediently, glancing back at the plushes sadly. ]

[ grins at the lady cashier when they get to the front of the store, putting down the plushes on the counter to be bagged. pays the correct amount, winks at the girl, then glances at anthony after the bag is handed to him. ]

[ hands the bag over to anthony, rolling his eyes up to the ceiling in thought when they get outside the store. can't control the grin that spreads across his face when he decides. ]

'Kay.

[ & then he begins to head in another direction. ]

[ stares after him, questioning himself for a moment after seeing that grin. jogs a few quick steps to catch up to his friend afterward, peering up at his face in hopes of clues. ]

. . . Where?

[ shakes his head, not gracing anthony with a reply. it also seems like they're not going anything in particular before they come upon a certain store (http://i56.tinypic.com/2qaptgo.jpg) that he's making a beeline towards at a leisurely pace, as if it's no big deal for either of them. ]

[ stops when he sees the store & tony moving toward it, his thoughts freezing as he tries to make sense of what's happening -- if it's actually happening. ]

[ then somewhere along the line, he realizes that tony's serious, making him rush up to grab at his friend's wrist with both his hands yet again, looking alarmed. ]

You-- That-- It's-- Why-- None of that stuff will fit you!

[ raises an eyebrow down at anthony, stopping right in front of the store when the other grabs onto him, looking quite amused. ]

Oh, I'm not getting anything for me.

[ grip tightens as he tries to yank him backward, trying to put some distance between them & the store. ]

My day! No sexy females today! Some other time! Store'll be open tomorrow too--?!

[ tilts his head a bit and blinks, not moving an inch. ]

[ stumbles forward at the tug, then tugs right back, breath increasingly growing shallow in panic. voice rises in volume for a second. ]

[ comes back down to normal octave. ] It's still bad! Why is it always underw-- r-reschedule?!

[ glances around when a bunch of people look their way at anthony's exclamation. gives his friend an unpleasant look. ]
