[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she ~~gleefully~~ casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ~~ninja~~ butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

[ twitches when the kiss tickles him, but grins happily anyway. begins to shuffle down the street in a straight line, shifting the weight pressed on his arms once in a while. his head is kept straight as he watches & follows the map in his head, taking care of not being clumsy now that he's carrying nathania.

about ten minutes into a quiet walk toward his apartment, he readjusts her weight one more time, but this time so that he can talk: ]

Give report! House in two minute!

[ balances herself on caleb with an arm, raising her other one to jab a fist up in the air. is as enthusiastic as he is when she chirps: ]

House! Warm bed and cuddles!

[ moves along a little more quickly at that exclamation, feeling energized. ]

Ja! We go!

[ re-wraps her arms around his neck again, placing her head next to cheek. is comfortable like this, basking in the night air and freedom from sore feet. when the apartment is finally in (her) view she begins to hum a tune, murmuring some lyrics every now and then as they go along. let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height... ]

[ begins to hum along when he feels like he's getting a handle on the melody after a few verses. that continues up until they reach the front doors of the apartment building, whereupon he's carefully lowering himself so that nathania can hop off comfortably. ]

House is here! Ride elevator is easy on feet!

[ and she does hop off, quickly patting down her skirt to smooth it out. wraps her arms around one of his own when he stands again, peering up at him. ]

My hero~

[ bends to give her a kiss on the forehead. ]

For Nathan-ee-ah, ja!

[ shakes her head. ]

You're a hero to a lot of people, silly. [ begins their short walk to the elevator. ] I'm sure they think so, too.

[ presses the up button when they arrive. ]

Danke! But I am helper! Sidepunch! [ wait... ] Sidekick. . .

[ reaches up to pat his cheeks. ]

Then you are a super sidekick!

[ tilts into her hand automatically. ]

I become super super sidekick for Nathan-ee-ah!

But you're already my hero. [ faces the elevator's doors, tilting a bit to lean onto caleb. ] If anything, I'm the sidekick.

Nein! Nathan-ee-ah is princess! Or queen!

[ ... eyes might be sparkling a bit at this. ]

P-Princess? Really?

[ if he could sparkle, he'd sparkle back, but alas. ~~but his tail can wag.~~ ]

Ja! Is truth! Princess of team!

[ looks down at her feet, blushing a little. ]

I think I like that...

[ beams. ]

Ja! And princess is never not-special! Nathan-ee-ah is super special.

[ beams back at him before she pushes her face into his side, giving him a hug. ]

You always know what to say.

[ returns the hug for a while, but pulls away so that he can give her a quick kiss to the lips before the elevator arrives. ]

Is easy because I only say truth. So believe me, ja?

[ smiles briefly at that. ]

I always believe you. [ pauses in her words as they walk forward. makes a face, then admits: ] It just sometimes takes me a while to admit it...

[ once in the elevator, he hits the number of his floor & turns to nathania. ]

Is okay. Nathan-ee-ah always understand and listen, and that is good and important. More and more good than me!

[ shakes her head. ]

We both do our best. And we'll continue to improve, right?

Ja! Is most important. Hilda say same thing too.

[ lifts a hand, clenching it. ]

I'll learn from her even more, then!

[ puts a hand over her clenched one, giving it an encouraging and gentle squeeze. ]

Will be easy for Nathan-ee-ah because Nathan-ee-ah already know and understand a lot of Hilda lessons. Always get gold star, I know!
