[ droops a little at that. ]

But I don't want to sleep in the snow alone...

I sit next to Nathan while Nathan sleep. Is okay!

[ makes a small disgruntled noise as he begins to take off his shirt. ]

It's not the same, you know.

But sleep in bed together is more good. . .

[ reaches over for his new shirt, pulling it on as he speaks. ]

Yeah, but sleep in snow is our mission. And making snow angels.

I sleep in snow before! Is Nathan turn. But I make snow angel! Dog angel!

Dog angel?

Me! My snow angel. Add ear and big nose too!

[ can't help but laugh at that after a moment's pause, shaking his head as he swaps pants to begin putting on his other jackets. ]

Right, I forgot.

[ beams at the laughter, then finally shuffles around to wrestle out a sweater of his own from his dresser to tug on over his head. ]

Look nice, and funny.

[ hums in agreement as he tugs on his gloves. ]

Then what kind of snow angel should I make?

[ his answer is immediate: ]

Nathan angel!

... yeah, I know, but what kind of animal would I be?

[ pauses, scratching the back of his head. ]

What is favourite animal?

[ looks elsewhere at that, giving himself some time to think. and then: ]

I never thought about that before. All animals hate me, so...

[ nods, knowing that to be true from previous conversations. ]

Then Nathan be Nathan? Nathan angel be friend with dog angel.

[ shrugs a shoulder at that, shuffling over to his backpack to dig around in it for his scarf. ]

Sounds about right to me.

[ hands one of his bigger jackets to nathan when he sees that nathan's about done in completing the layers upon layers of protection. ]

Almost done!

[ takes it after he stands, fumbling with it a little clumsily until he gets it on. looks down at himself. back up at caleb. ]

Am I ready yet, mom?

[ thumps at nathan's clothes-layered sides as a test before nodding with a grin. ]

Ja! Very ready!

[ murmurs something about looking ridiculous as he shoves on his hat, waddling around a little awkwardly as he waits for caleb to finish his own changing routine. ]

[ quickly grabs his discarded winter jacket, shrugging it on. zipping that up, he scrambles around, locating one glove after another. it takes another five minutes for him to find his hat. yanking that on (his hair sticking out from under it in a messy way), he stands up, puffing out his chest like he's accomplished something great. ]

Okay!

[ slowly smiles at him and his enthusiasm, lifting a hand to pat caleb's head but moves it at the last minute to pat his cheek instead. ]

A world record.

[ nuzzles against that hand. ]

Gold?

[ uses his other hand to smoosh caleb's cheeks in a tad. ]

Gold. Maybe even cookies later.
