[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she gleefully casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ninja butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

[ also blinks. tilts head in confusion. ]

< Why wouldn't it be? I was a good kid! Hilda told me so. >

[ thinks about this. shifts a bit to lean up against him, shaking her head. ]

< I think... maybe I want to learn things from you first. > [ nods to herself. ] < I feel closer to you when we share things. >

[ leans back lightly, pressing their sides together. ]

< I feel close even without sharing, but if that's what Nathan-ee-ah wants, then we'll do that. But if Nathan-ee-ah wants to really know something, ask Hilda! She'll always know. >

[ nods again to that, pushing her face into his side. there's a small pause after she places one of her hands over his, feeling shy despite already saying it plenty of times before. thus she murmurs, knowing he'll hear it regardless: ]

[ turns his hand so that their palms are touching to entwine their fingers. ]

[ is quiet for minutes afterward, just enjoying nathania's weight against him & watching the baby play.

then perks up, head going up as if he sees something. ]

Pizza is here!

[ jerks out of the comfortable silence as well, head also shooting up in excitement and longing for a delicious meal. ]

[ glances at the baby, then the doorway. baby. doorway. baby. doorway. sob. releases her hold on caleb's hand, scooting more towards the baby. ]

I'll stay with him.

[ doesn't seem to notice her dilemma, merely nodding & getting quickly to his feet. ]

Back with pizza soon!

[ & he's off, narrowly missing smashing into the doorway in his haste. he takes his time down the stairs though, gripping onto the railings just in case. he finds the front door easily enough & he opens it before the delivery person has a chance to knock. accepts the pizza with a yap of thanks & pays for it in a few quick seconds. then he's scrambling back up the stairs.

bounding back into the room, he announces: ] Food! I bring it!

[ by the time caleb's at the front door she'd successfully (for the third time) kept their little friend from squirming off into the distance, tickling him and making silly faces to watch him giggle and grab at her hair, as per usual. thus she is leaning over lyssa when caleb comes back in, her hair tightly gripped between the boy's stubby little fingers as he happily chews on it. beams over at caleb regardless, jabbing a fist into the air. ]

Food, food!

[ puts the pizza down on the ground & scoots it forward. ]

Baby, hair is bad to eat! Hard to chew and have no taste!

[ laughs a little at that, reaching down to gently remove the hands from her hair. replaces it with one of the soft toys instead, briefly making a face at the damp strands. ]

Hopefully he'll realize that once he can have solid foods...

They can. [ reaches over for the pizza box. ] Babies just like sticking things into their mouths.

[ waits for her to take a piece before reaching for a piece of his own. ]

Mm. Babies are tougher than they look. [ noms at her piece of pizza. after some chewing & a moment of thought: ] He spits it out right after I bleach and dye my hair, though.

[ makes an amazed 'oooh' noise. ]

Is more smart than what they look too! Bleach is very bad for health!

Correct! [ wipes her hands off quickly, reaching over to ruffle caleb's hair afterward. ] You're so smart!

[ puffs out his chest & seems to glow a bit. ]

[ turns to do the same to lyssa, grinning and giving him little kisses on his face when he giggles. after that's over with, she turns back to caleb. ]

I forgot to get drinks. What would you like?
