[ rests against her more comfortably, lowering the baby to rest against his lap instead, humming contently. ]

[ cuddles and rubs her nose into him briefly, pushing her face towards lyssa again to smile and make faces at him. when he starts to squirm and babble a little (a signal that she's familiar with by now): ]

Wanna play with him? He has a lot of funny toys.

Ja! Have bird so is okay for toy?

Bird is okay, yes... but there's more.

[ gently removes herself from caleb, standing and wandering over to the place they typically keep the baby's toys. first drags out the play gym (http://i55.tinypic.com/5osh6w.jpg), scooting it next to caleb and adjusting it a little bit. after some more rummaging she comes back with a (http://i52.tinypic.com/52j8qw.jpg) bunch (http://i53.tinypic.com/v6ru38.jpg) of (http://i55.tinypic.com/314s8qh.jpg) caterpillar (http://i54.tinypic.com/2448g20.jpg)-shaped (http://i53.tinypic.com/34grj2f.jpg) toys (http://i51.tinypic.com/2z71pbl.jpg). also what seems to be a small soft pillow (http://i55.tinypic.com/5d1iq9.jpg), one she personally chose for lyssa.

wiggles next to them again, spreading the items out. beams over at her boyfriend. ] Aren't they adorable? Albert calls him his little caterpillar, so he got caterpillar toys! I got this pillow for him, too!

[ bad man calls his baby a bug.

... somehow, even he's not surprised.

reaches over to pick up the pillow (nathania's choice is safe, yes?) with his now free hand. pauses for a moment, then holds it over lyssa's face. ]

[ watches... then laughs at both his expression and attempt at playing. carefully reaches over to pick the baby up from caleb's hold, placing lyssa in the play gym thing. when he starts waving his hands up at the dangling toys: ]

This is so he can be stimulated by more than one toy at a time. [ pulls one down for him, letting it spring back up when he grabs at it. ] But you have to watch out, he likes to wiggle onto his stomach and try to inch away if you don't watch him closely enough.

[ some time of translating & deciphering later: ]

Is why his name is caterpillar?

Um... [ decides to switch for caleb's sake: ] [ pauses. corrects self. ] < No, um. 'Very', not 'Really'. Ah, it's probably because he squirms like one, too, yes. >

[ reaches over to nudge at one of the dangling toys for the baby & then scratches at his temple in thought. ]

< We have it here, I think. > [ stands again, going over to the small bookshelf where they're slowly collecting books for lyssa. pulls it out when she finds it, coming back to sit down next to caleb again. shows it to him. ] < Does it look familiar? >

[ perks up when he sees the familiar cover. nods excitedly & points. ]

< Yes, yes! I know this book! Hilda and I read it together! >

[ reaches over to gently roll lyssa back over when it looks like he's about to squirm onto his stomach. ] < How is she, anyway? It's been a while since I've spoken to her. >

< She is doing really well! But Hilda is amazing so she'd feel great even after stealing all of Germany! >

... < S-Stealing all of Germany...? > [ why would she-- no, best not to question him. ] < That's great! She should visit again sometime soon. >

< Yes, I agree! I'll tell her the next time I can ask her to come see us. > [ leans over to kiss her head again. ] < Hilda likes you, so I'm sure she won't say no. >

[ flushes a bit at that last part, ducking her head a little. ]

< I'm glad. I... I like her too. >

< She knows! Hilda knows everything! >

[ reaches over to tap his nose once. ]

< Especially everything about you, right? >

[ wiggles his nose a bit. ]

< Yes! More than what I know about myself too! >

[ cranes her neck to kiss that wiggling nose, then turns back to lyssa. reaches over to help him with one of the toys. ]

< Nathan-ee-ah can! Because Nathan-ee-ah is very smart. > [ short pause. ] < And if you ask Hilda, I'm sure she'll tell you everything, so you can get there tomorrow! >

[ blinks, looking slightly surprised. ]

< Would that really be okay? >

[ also blinks. tilts head in confusion. ]

< Why wouldn't it be? I was a good kid! Hilda told me so. >

[ thinks about this. shifts a bit to lean up against him, shaking her head. ]

 [ nods to herself. ]

[ leans back lightly, pressing their sides together. ]
