[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she gleefully casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ninja butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

[ trusting caleb to watch lyssa without any trouble, she excuses herself and heads in the direction of her room without another word. ]

[ & true to his word, he settles down with the baby to wait, keeping it him close to his chest as to keep him warm. a few more rocking motions & other gestures full-body gestures that he's seen nathania do is about the extent that he moves. (if he dropped the baby, the bad man would hunt him, he's sure of it.) he's otherwise quiet, content in tracking the movement & sounds in the mansion with his eye. the mansion grounds are big enough that there always seem to be something interesting to find & explore. the ninja-servant that strangely vanishes & reappears elsewhere is always fun to follow around too. ]

[ while she's keeping busy with rummaging around her room, happily humming and picking up her laptop from its usual resting place (her bed, unless her other sister was over, as she had to hide it to make sure that the punk wouldn't steal her precious like she always did). after grabbing the DVD from the shelf she's off again, hopping up the stairs before poking her head inside the nursery again. ]

[ had been dozing off a little by then, his breathing slowly synchronizing with the baby's when nathania's heartbeat breaks him out of his daze. ]

< Welcome back! We waited for you! >

< You did, you did! > [ wanders over to quickly kiss both the top of caleb's and lyssa's heads, then goes to find an outlet for the laptop. ] < Did he behave? >

< Yes! He's a wonderful baby. The quietest I've ever seen or heard. >

[ puffs her chest out a little despite the baby not being hers. ]

< I'm sure he'll babble a lot once he gets older, though. I heard when they turn two they start getting a little bratty. >

[ comes back when she's finished to place the laptop down in front of them. ]

< I guess we'll have to wait and see. >

[ scoots in to press his shoulder against hers as he peers at the screen. ]

[ shakes her head, deciding to check her email. ]

< I thought we could wait until the pizza gets here. Shouldn't be too long from now, though. > [ turns to him again. ] < Do you want me to take the baby? >

[ looks down at the baby & then shakes his head. ]

< No, I like holding him. He's warm. >

... [ finds that endearing. can't help herself, just. cuddles up against him. ] < I think we should babysit more often. >

[ nuzzles at the top of her head. ]

< I want to! As long as bad man lets me. . . >

[ laughs weakly, kissing his shoulder. ]

< I'm sure he wouldn't mind... >

[ leans his head against hers a little, tucking the baby closer to his chest. ]

< I guess not. . . > [ a short pause later: ] < I am really sorry, Nathan-ee-ah, but he is scary! >

< It's okay, you can't help it. > [ raises a fist. ] < I'll punch him for you next time anyway. >

[ jerks away a little, looking like he waits to flail, but unable due to the baby in his arms. settles for swaying a bit instead. ]

Nein, nein! Is okay, I am okay! No punch from Caleb!

[ slowly puts her arm down. ]

But it'll teach him a lesson...

[ sways even more. ]

No throw punch! Bitte!

[ looks about ready to protest again when something makes him pause. goes still. speaks slowly, as if he can't comprehend even the simplest form of the idea: ]

Nathan-ee-ah really want to punch family. . . ?

Uhh. Not my entire family... just Albert, 'cause he deserves it. Maybe Danielle too because she likes to steal Sam.
