[ blinks down at lyssa, observing him for a moment with some slight confusion of her own. and then: ]

[ makes a small 'oh' noise & stares down at the baby. plastering another smile on his face, he reaches to carefully pry the boy out of nathania's arms & holds him against his chest again. ]

Guten Tag, baby!

[ leans back into the rocking chair, laughing when lyssa tries to nom at caleb. ]

Yep, you are officially one of his favorite people.

[ tilts his head down to let the baby nibble at his hair easier while trying to puff out his chest as much as his current position allows. ]

Really?!

Ja! [ reaches up to rub at caleb's arm a little, as if congratulating him. ] Best friends already.

[ tries to puff up even more. ]

Danke! [ a long pause here as he struggles to put his thoughts into english. once again gives up, falling back on his mother tongue: ] < I'll try my best to live up to that title! >

[ chuckles and nods, giving one more pat. when she removes the hand, a thought strikes her. thus: ]

< Do you want to stay over tonight? Albert and Brianna will be gone for most of the evening, I think, and I made Albert promise to call before they come home. We could order in and watch a movie? >

[ starts rocking the baby back and forth again when he stops noming on his hair. ]

< Okay! Does Nathan-ee-ah have a movie she wants to watch? >

[ nods furiously, reaching up to lightly put both her hands onto caleb's arms. stares up at him, eyes both puppy-like and sparkling at the same time when she says: ]

Bridesmaids.

[ blinks & then seems to do yet another one of his mental shrugs, deciding that it's best to let nathania choose as he has no preference. ]

Okay, if Nathan-ee-ah want.

Great! [ stands, lifting up on her tip-toes to give him a kiss on the cheek. ] What do you want to eat? I'm starving!

[ leans down to nuzzle at the top of her head, but ends up having to pull back to answer. ]

I am good with any food! Soup, rice, potato, pizza. . .

[ takes out her cellphone from her pocket, connecting to the internet from there to check for restaurants around the area. ]

Pizza would be easiest, I think. [ pauses. ] Or Chinese food. [ another pause, longer this time. ] Or maybe Mexican...

[ so many choices... in times like this, always default to: ]

W-What Nathan-ee-ah want?!

[ is half-deaf to caleb's reply, humming to herself. and then: ]

Pizza! Yeah, I definitely want pizza! [ turns her attention to caleb finally. ] Do you want tomato and cheese again?

[ relaxes now that that's been decided. ]

[ nods and presses the call button, turning to begin a small walk around the room while she waits & eventually orders. after that's over with: ]

I'll go get my laptop so we can watch the movie in here. Is that okay?

[ peers down at the baby in his arms. ]

I am good, but is okay with baby?

[ turns slightly away from the doorway. ]

Hm? [ looks at lyssa. ] Yeah, he can sleep through almost anything. He'll be fine.

Okay. I wait here with baby!

[ trusting caleb to watch lyssa without any trouble, she excuses herself and heads in the direction of her room without another word. ]

[ & true to his word, he settles down with the baby to wait, keeping it him close to his chest as to keep him warm. a few more rocking motions & other gestures full-body gestures that he's seen nathania do is about the extent that he moves. (if he dropped the baby, the bad man would hunt him, he's sure of it.) he's otherwise quiet, content in tracking the movement & sounds in the mansion with his eye. the mansion grounds are big enough that there always seem to be something interesting to find & explore. the ninja-servant that strangely vanishes & reappears elsewhere is always fun to follow around too. ]

[ while she's keeping busy with rummaging around her room, happily humming and picking up her laptop from its usual resting place (her bed, unless her other sister was over, as she had to hide it to make sure that the punk wouldn't steal her precious like she always did). after grabbing the DVD from the shelf she's off again, hopping up the stairs before poking her head inside the nursery again. ]

[ had been dozing off a little by then, his breathing slowly synchronizing with the baby's when nathania's heartbeat breaks him out of his daze. ]

< You did, you did! > [ wanders over to quickly kiss both the top of caleb's and lyssa's heads, then goes to find an outlet for the laptop. ] < Did he behave? >
