[ reaches over give nathania's hand over the baby a fond pat. ]

[ blinks up at him. slowly smiles, craning her neck down a bit to kiss the top of caleb's hand. ]

[ smiles goofily & leans forward to give the top of nathania's head a kiss of his own. ]

[ smile grows wider, pointing at her cheek. ]

Kiss here too? Bitte?

Ja! [ & then obediently bends down again to kiss her cheek & then her forehead. ]

[ lifts her head to quickly kiss his jawline once before her eyes go back to the (thankfully now burping, if only once or twice) baby. ]

Is good for now. [ pats and rubs lyssa's back some more, pulling him away to sit and bounce him on her lap instead. commence more baby talk: ] Is very good, isn't it? Yes it is~

[ sways a bit in happiness before reaching down to wiggling his fingers in front of the baby's face & gurgles at him a bit, trying to communicate. ]

[ can't help but laugh at his antics, managing to incline her head over to the corner of the room. ]

Pull that chair over here and sit, silly!

[ doesn't have to look to know that the chair is there, so just glances down at the baby again instead. ]

But cannot see over baby-cage in chair. . .

Don't worry, I'll hang onto him for a while longer. He needs his exercise, after all. [ turns back to lyssa when she hears him gurgle happily, rubbing noses with him. ] That's right, you little cutie pie! It's playtime with uncle and auntie~

[ pauses in reaching into the crib for a stuffed bird, looking at nathania. ]

I am baby uncle?

[ augh. ]

Ah, no, sorry. It just came out that way. Haha...

[ tilts his head & thinks about it for a moment, then seems to shrug off thinking too much into it (because if he did, it would take a while) so that he can finish retrieving the bird. ]

Is okay. Can be baby uncle! Baby uncle Caleb!

[ nods absently, too distracted by watching lyssa make grabby hands at the toy. ]

That's fine, I'm sure nobody would mind.

[ hands the toy on over to the baby, making its beak poke at his nose once. ]

. . . Except bad man.

[ sighs a little at that, though smiles up at him. ]

Albert doesn't hate you. [ i think... ] He just likes to tease you.

Erm. . . know it is not hate, but is not nice feeling still. [ short pause. ] Go be uncle when bad man is not here!

He doesn't like being away from Lyssa for too long, but... [ takes a glance at said baby again. huffs out in amusement. ] It's a nice offer.

Try! Will try!

[ reaches up to poke his nose with a finger. ]

I know you will.

[ goes cross-eyed briefly & is about to answer when he notices strange movements coming from the baby. watches the arms flail upward a bit in confusion & then turns back to the crib in search of other toys. finding none, he decides to turn to nathania for answers. ]

Erm. I give bird. No more bird in cage. Baby okay?

[ blinks down at lyssa, observing him for a moment with some slight confusion of her own. and then: ]

No, I think he wants you, not the bird.

[ makes a small 'oh' noise & stares down at the baby. plastering another smile on his face, he reaches to carefully pry the boy out of nathania's arms & holds him against his chest again. ]
