[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she gleefully casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ninja butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

[ blinks up at her at that, tilting his head in confusion. stutters out a few nonsense string of english before he forces himself to pause to go another route: ]

[ already knows the answer, but looks elsewhere anyway in mock thought. finally smiles and takes a glance at him. ]

Maybe someday, when I'm old enough to properly handle one.

[ opens her mouth, closes it. laughs lightly and decides to leave it at that, rubbing at the baby's stomach a bit. ]

Yeah, yeah it's good.

[ attention goes back to the baby, rocking back and forth. ]

[ a smile tugs at her lips while continuing to watch, gently tugging the bottle from caleb's hold when it's empty. talks in a cute voice to lyssa briefly: ]

All gone! Yaaay! [ looks up at her companion. ] You did really good, Caleb.

[ puffs out his chest in pride. ]

[ ruffles his hair a little. ]

Are you okay with burping him? Or do you want me to do it instead?

Bur. . . burping. . . [ blinks at her blankly. ]

Ah, um. < Burping. It's what you do after a baby eats, so you can get rid of excess air they take in when feeding. > [ stands, reaching out for the baby. ] < Here, let me show you. >

[ blinks again & hands the baby over to her, scooting in closer to watch. ]

[ takes the baby, adjusting his weight before stepping back a few paces to take a seat on the rocking chair beside the crib. places lyssa in the correct position before patting and rubbing his back. ]

< It's better to do it this way. He might get crabby and uncomfortable if not. >

[ makes an amazed 'oooh' noise at the explanation. ]

< Wow! Nathan-ee-ah knows a lot about babies. >

[ brief pause at that. takes a (verbal) step back. ]

< B-Because I want to take care of him when his parents are away... you know? >

[ nods, accepting the explanation at face-value. ]

< The baby's parents are so lucky! Nathan-ee-ah is very helpful and resourceful! >

[ looks down at her lap a little sheepishly. ]

[ reaches over give nathania's hand over the baby a fond pat. ]

< You do better than try! You succeed! >

[ blinks up at him. slowly smiles, craning her neck down a bit to kiss the top of caleb's hand. ]

[ smiles goofily & leans forward to give the top of nathania's head a kiss of his own. ]

Ja! [ & then obediently bends down again to kiss her cheek & then her forehead. ]

[ lifts her head to quickly kiss his jawline once before her eyes go back to the (thankfully now burping, if only once or twice) baby. ]

Is good for now. [ pats and rubs lyssa's back some more, pulling him away to sit and bounce him on her lap instead. commence more baby talk: ] Is very good, isn't it? Yes it is~
