[ after albert and brianna declared their plans to go out on a date for the rest of the evening, she took it upon herself to personally watch lyssa until they returned home, despite her former plans with her boyfriend. it's with that change (and realization of what she did at the very last moment) that she calls up caleb to tell him the news, sounding disappointed until she gleefully casually suggested that he come over to help. after some convincing that yes, albert won't be here and yes, she'll wait for him by the door, is done and over with, she happily skips down the stairs after telling lyssa's personal ninja butler that she'll be back shortly.

plops down on the second to last step of the stairs while happily swaying and humming to herself, her eyes planted on the doorway to wait for caleb to enter. ]

See baby, yes. [ begins their walk, peering up at caleb as they go along. switches to german, for his sake: ] < He's gotten so big! And he babbles a lot now, too. >

[ & of course he hears it. shivers a bit. ]

< B-Be careful, Nathan-ee-ah. Bad man feels really bad. . . >

[ reaches over with her free hand to pat caleb's own. ]

< He's not that bad, just a little warped. >

[ gives the hand he's holding a squeeze & is quiet for a while, thinking his answer through ]

< Erm. . . I guess he's not an evil person, but I don't get a good feeling around him. >

[ hops up to give him a quick peck on his cheek. ]

[ perks up when they arrive at their destination, removing her hand from caleb's own to peek inside the baby's nursery. nods a little to the ninja butler at lyssa's crib, who promptly ninjas out leaves when they enter in full.

scoots quickly over to peer down at the baby, beaming happily while he stares up at her. ]

Good morning, sleepy head! You had a good nap, didn't you? [ reaches down to tickle his stomach. ] Yes you did!

[ peers over the bars of the crib, just watching nathania & the baby interact, trying to make his smile as nice-looking as possible. ]

[ after a moment or two of cooing, she looks back over to caleb. a pause later: ]

... you don't have to strain yourself, you know. He likes everyone.

[ startles a bit, blinking owlishly at the sudden change in language. scrambling for his derplish english, he says slowly: ]

Nein! Erm-- ja! But want to look good! A good man so baby is not afraid.

[ reaches down when lyssa makes grabby hands at her, hoisting him up to rest on her chest and shoulder. ]

If he adores Albert, then he's certainly not gonna be afraid of you.

[ shuffles his feet a bit. ]

Bad-- erm, that is father of baby! Baby like father because father help give life.

[ shakes her head a little. ]

Don't worry so much. [ gently removes lyssa's hand from her hair, holding him up for caleb to take. ] Here, hold him for me while I get some milk.

[ accepts the baby & holds it him close to his chest like he would hold anything that might break easily. after a moment, settles himself on the floor. looks up at nathania, nods. ]

Okay. I stay here.

[ flashes a brief smile, moving to the other side of the room where the necessary items are at. it doesn't take very long to retrieve an already-full bottle of milk and warm it up (it wasn't like albert and brianna to not keep a limitless supply around, after all) before making her way back, slowly lowering herself down to rest on her knees.

sets the bottle aside to show caleb how to cradle the baby, carefully shifting his arms around. ]

Here, hold him like this so you can feed him. [ once she's sure he's okay she hands over the bottle. ] Just place it on his mouth, he'll do all the work for you.
